I'm really tempted to get 2 of these, one for myself and one for my sister. Can anybody tell me if there's any reason not to go for this? Seems like a cracking deal to me but normally everybody would be jumping on it. Am I missing something?
#3
thats a bargain voted hot and left rep and prozak i think you should get that i would if i needed one.

Says 'as new' @ DABS site. Usually refurb ipods have 12 month warranty when bought from Apple. In this case, the warranty may be from DABS. Good price though.

Don't retailers HAVE to offer a minimum 12 month warranty on everything they sell? I'm pretty sure it's statutory law.....

Not necessarily on refurbished items :)

I think refurb items are just as good as new. Especially when it says "as new".

I bought an Ipod video from apple store and it was in perfect condition. Like new but obviously with the brown box. Considering i saved £50 on it, they can keep the box!"

True.. I couldnt beleive its a refurb item, except being in a brown box. Apple gives 12 month warranty on all refurb products though.

Yep, second hand items (or refurbished in this case) are covered under the Sale of Goods Act. Since Apple provide a 12 month warranty on their refurb iPods and new iPods can be reasonably expected to last a couple of years, it's not wrong to assume that this will last at least 1 year.

Having said all that, it's definitely hassle, so assume it's a 3 month warranty anyway :whistling:

I've bought 2 refurbished ones from Apple. One packed up after 6 months and Apple replaced with another refurbished one from Holland in 3 days. The other one is still going strong. Would rather a longer warranty that what Dabs is offering.

good post - many thanks alfiejts

It's hard work getting Dabs to stick to the well known and unarguable parts of the Sales of Goods Act sometimes - never mind the vaguer parts!

cheers for this deal, just ordered one for myself, very very cheap compared to everywhere else, the 4gb nano's cost this much.

il just have to see how big it is and how it feels in my pocket before deciding to keep it or not as i have an ipod nano 4gb.

thanks

my advice is avvoiiidddd refurbished ipods...i bought refurb. ipod video 30 gb from apple in sep.2006 and in the last 6 months it had to be replaced by apple 4 times as every time the hard disk fails after few weeks and they send me a replacement refurb.one. now they admitted that it is unacceptable to carry on replacing ipods and decided to send me a brand new one which i am waiting for. i wish i bought new one from the start.

its gone up to £119

If anyone gets one of these - just type the serial number into the Apple website and see what it says about the warranty. I'd be interested to see why these are just 3 months warranty when the standard Apple refurb warranty is 12 months.

The Refurbs have been about for a while on Appple with varying levels of feebdack =- i got a Nano but it died at about 4 months and was sent back and excahnged immedialet by Apple.

Personaly with the google checkout at the moment I would pay another £30 or so and getit for about £140 all in using ebuyer google checkout.

just got my refurb today

was in mint condition with a few tiny light scratches on the back,

all the accessories were included brand new, the original box too.

just checked the apple site for how long my warranty is and its stating 6 months warranty :w00t:

now i need to decide whether to keep it over my 4GB silver nano :S

i might keep it as the sound is much louder on the video than my nano for some reason

but thanks for this deal, £100 was a bargain :D

regards
