The raft of cold posters strikes again - very good deal IMO, when carefully considered.

People hate financial product deals on here for some reason - daft really when you consider that they are probably the most important hot deals to look for...!

If you do a 12 month BT elsewhere on a £1000 balance, you would be looking at a 3% fee for the year at 0% - hence £30 "interest".

12 months on this one at 6.9% is £69 - but you then need to take away the compound interest, as the interest will drop each month due to repayments, hence probably bringing it closer to £40-45. Still more expensive, but for those who do not want to time it exactly in 12 months to transfer again, very hot.

Especially hot for anyone wanting to pay off in less than a year, as the reduced interest will much more than offset the 3% upfront cost of a BT elsewhere.

Would go for it if I didnt already have a barclaycard!
Try M&S card, 0% for 10 months on all purchases!
Try M&S card, 0% for 10 months on all purchases!

but that is just encouraging people to get into more debt

oh, and a 2% transfer fee

this is a great deal and one of the few deals where cold voters really should explain why.................
If you have a card with Barclaycard (or any credit card company) already you can always call up customer service and then say you want to close the card. If you get told your going to be put through to the closures department or similar then you can negotiate with them about your interest rate. They can usually reprice you to 6.9% on whatever balance you have on the card, or offer like 0% for 12months. If they say they will fill in a form or whatever just say that you will call back later to do it or insist they wait and put you through.

If the advisor in customer service says they can close it for you then you just make up an excuse to not want to close any more as your card is probably marked as not valuable enough to attempt to retain your business with em.

Works with any credit card company. But only if they value you enough as a customer will you be able to negotiate a deal, otherwise the advisor will close the card for you.
I called up M&S credit card to see if they would come down on interest by Straightaway told me cant offer anything lower than 15.95%. asked me to close a/c if not happy. Nowaday they arent bothered.

If you have a debt on another card, and can't pay it off quickly this is an excellent deal. Unsecured 6.8% loan that you can pay as much as you like off each month. Quite a few boxes to tick...so not for all.

New cards at 0% are good if you can get them, but many have a fat fee to factor in. Not for everyone but in no way cold. Voted hot earlier.
maybe this deal would get some heat if they gave away a free can of 8p asda sausages with the card! :)
Why is this expired?
Why is this expired?
