6 Berth Alabama Tent

(Shipping was £7.95 to me but I think it varies t different areas)

This is just one of many great deals on tents from this sote.

The FRT118 Alabama is the ultimate 6 berth communal family tent.

Just take a look at this fantastic European style one bedroom open plan tent in Champagne and Khaki. It is superbly made from 190t Polyester and has 2000mm waterproofing with a built in groundsheet, it is cunningly designed so that the whole family can sleep in one room.

The waterproof covers in the bedroom area windows each side of the door unzips to expose a mesh window to let light and ventilation into the tent.

The mesh on these two windows is also removable, making it have three doors or openings.

The waterproof cover on the third window also unzips

Comes with all joints seam taped and a full polyethylene abrasion, mildew and ultra violet resistant floor. It has highly flexible shock corded fibreglass and resin poles for strength and easy erection.

Features:

· Side windows roll down & can also be removed

· Living & Sleeping areas

· Easy Setup

· Groundsheet included

· Colour Champagne

· Weight 10.6 KG

· Size - 570x330x190/150cm

Thats a hell of a reduction!
Hot purely for that

Is this a recognised brand? I'm half tempted to buy one and stash it in the cupboard.

Edit: Eventually established shipping is £7.95
I wonder if there is genuinely anyone called James Bond with the address moccasins@treeworld.co.uk">moccasins@treeworld.co.uk that will be getting spam after this investigation :)

argos have a 6 berth tent on offer at moment too for 39.99. with free collection might work out bit cheaper, but still good offer.
#4
£249.99! I think that's a very ambitious price most others have it pegged around the £50 mark
#5
it looks as though it only has a single skin - where for if it rains you get condensation on the inside. Most tents have an inner layer which prevents the wetness reaching through to you when you are sleeping. Also as it doesn't have seperate sleeping compartment then any drafts will make the tent pretty cold to sleep in.

I bought a very similar (but bigger) one on eBay last year for about the same price. They're not bad tents ... the build quality and waterproofing seems ok. Certainly there are lots of other similar tents around for the same price on eBay.

I don't know who the seller is ... certainly the same tent can be bought from other places for an identical price:

Also, the link seems to take you to an affiliate link first?

THere is no way that tent was £249 originally, i'd avoid cybercheckout tents, very poor quality and don't last very long. Cold form me

Cybercheckout are really good at inflating RRP's:thumbsup:

10KG - too much to cycle with... not a £249 tent but still a nice price... if you need 6 berth.

Nope, I assure you it doesn't. I was hunting for a camping stove and came across this site.

yes my mate got one from cyber, he only wanted it for one weeks holiday and it barely made it through that, definately do not bump the tent in the morning else it is shower central...

any seasoned tenter will tell you to steer clear, I am one of them.

2000mm waterproofing isn't much.

You want 5000 as a minimum if there's likely to be anything other than light drizzle. I think my tent is rated at 8000mm, and it's not leaked yet, despite being about 10 years old.
#18
At this price can get a few mates in it at a festival weekend and then bin it if needs be. Hot for me
#19
wow thats a great price!! Shame its open plan thow, even at that price I don't fancy not having any privicy.

I bought a single sheet £11 tent fromSportshq last year and took it to Italy. It experienced some of the most torrential downpours you could ever imagine and it didn't leak one little bit. It's 2000mm.

Cheap rubbish. All their "original" prices are pure fantasy. This should give you an idea of their faith in their product:-

In order to get the best out of your tent we recommend applying a waterproofing substance at the beginning of each season.

I've never had to do that to any of my polyester tents...
and
Due to the nature of this product we offer a 3 month warranty

Pretty much use once, get wet, then throw way then.

:cry:I bought an 8 man tent from these guys last year. I couldn't believe my luck. It was reduced from £485 to around around £85. It took two of us nearly 2 hours to put it up and the quality constituted about £50 worth of value. My smaller 4 man Coleman tent, which cost me £180 will be taken out of moth balls for my next camping trip. Vey thin material and forget getting it back into the poor quality bag once you have taken it down. It must have been packaged in the vacuum of space originally. Sorry this is cold for me!

i also found this one, not much difference.

i think it's great for festivals, disposable tents hee hee :)

I bought the one from Argos for £39.99 mention earlier, tried it our last night.

i wouldn't recommend unless you plan on only using for say 1 camping trip. With ours the you could barely fit 2 people in one of the inner rooms, when you're in the Zip probably wont work or at least break whilst using it (which ours did).

it is only a 1200mm HH tent and did stand upto the downpoor last night, although 2 nights in a row could be questionable.

so anyway, if you actually want a tent you can use year after year don't buy one of these cheap alternatives as you WILL be disapointed despite only paying £40 or so pounds. but if you only want it as a disposable tent then it should do the trick.

thanksfully the kind chaps at argos took ours back and we got a full refund, luckily the zips broke ;)

anyways hope this helps someone to not make a wrong choice.

SAME Berth/price/reduction.

MUCH better deal here. Much more rigid More like a HOUSE. And VERY warm in the Summer.

Bought the Kansas and test erected it in the back garden. Seems ok so far.

However, I was left with a fifth shorter pole (2M). No clue what it's for. Suggestions on a postcard ;)

Edit:- Apparently it's for the flysheet

Like anyone would pay £250 for this PMSL.
As mentioned previously, there is no inside bedroom pods, so there will be no second skin. If you sleep in this prepare to be showered with condensation all night.
It may be cheap, but it is rubbish.
Cold from me.
