Watching a movie at home, is much like visiting the formidable dentist, offering patrons the chance to plop into a comfy chair while succumbing to the urge of laughing uncontrollably, unabashedly crying, or unashamedly screaming. Yelp with joy with today’s Groupon: for £6 get three months of entertainment with unlimited DVD and Blu-Ray rental, courtesy of the masterful movie moguls at Cinema Paradiso.

Cinema Paradiso started off as a small online retailer but it is now home to a library spanning over 65,000 different titles, specialising in the cinematic form of world cinema. Rebooting the home-video experience of yore with thousands of titles to order to your very door, Cinema Paradiso has hundreds of blockbusters and hits, including titles such as The Social Network, Red and Iron Man 2, providing endless sustenance for hungry eyes.

Cinema Paradiso offer one of the best virtual DVD rental services in the UK, when you take into account the broad array of limited and unlimited DVD packages. Today's Groupon allows you to get three months of unlimited DVD and Blu-Ray rentals for £6, meaning you can finally make a dent on that "Best Films of All Time" list you assembled all those years ago.

How this Groupon works:

Ooo, I'm tempted again. Really good service...is it for "brand new customers only" like LoveFilm usually is does anybody know?
#3
Is this a redeemable offer. I mean do you have to pay the full amount and then apply for cashback viaa coupon?
#4
Last time I just paid for Groupon and then that's it. £6 then just cancelled before the time was up and made sure I'd posted the last disc in good time. I'm gonna go for it again. :)

Can't believe there's Quidco too.

why not just download them for free.

Because your PC, router and modem will use more than 7 pence of electricity per day downloading constantly, so this deal is cheaper than downloading.

LoveFilm quite often do 3 month trials.

I bought this groupon last time around as it sounded great but when it came to the end of the offer, even after allowing a week for my dvd's to be returned to them, they stated that they hadn't received them thus I would have to pay for a full month of their service....low and behold my dvd's suddenly arrived in their hands one day after their cut off point for payment. Be warned everyone! I would touch this offer with a barge poll.

Did noone see them on watchdog LOL

That's a very good point, however receiving them through the post I would then have to use my PC to rip them to my server, plus I might not get the ones I want etc.

Not promoting Piracy, just balancing the argument :D

dont you have a dvd player?
it seems like promoting piracy to me lol.

besides to me id rather get the blurays in the post (im almost 100% blu now) and i couldnt download all these films in HD and have space for them, nor could i keep them on bluray discs as i dont have a bluray copier.

so yeah a great deal, i got it last time. shame its sold out this time, but i wish this was for games too.

If you want to make a true comparison then you have to do it fairly surely? If you download the films (remember it's wrong kids) then you will have them 'forever', in order to do the same with a DVD trial you would need to rip them to your PC.

I have a Blu-Ray player, but I also have an 8tb server where I like to store things

Think I'll stick to renting for now and save my bandwidth.

Exactly the same thing happened to me - ditto

Just code my code at midnight last night. 12 hours after it was supposed to arrive. Site seems very slow, I hope the service is much better.

Thanks for the comments about the end of the period, will have to bear it in mind in august.

I read the terms on Groupon first and nowhere did it say anything about this. Now I'm going to have to try and get my money back from Groupon, or explain to Cinema Paradiso that I've paid for it and see if they'll let me continue with the offer. Rather frustrating! Anyone else had this problem?

That's good to know thanks. I've contacted them, just waiting for a reply :|

Yes agreed Groupon should've made that clear in their offer.

Btw how did you find the service from Paradiso? I've had 2 discs so far, so fast, but neither were in my top 5.
#27
I've heard from Groupon today and they're going to give me a refund. As for Cinema Paradiso, it was soooooooo long ago I used them that I can't even remember what the service was like! Though based on reviews, apparently they're not so good
