6 Issues of the Radio Times for £1

Not as good as the 8 or 12 issues for a pound they did earlier in the year, but still not bad.

Once they have taken your £1, you are free to cancel your direct debit.

This deal is always on so how can it be hot...if it was 12 issues then yes would be a scorcher...
#4
Have some heat OP. Always happy to have a few cheap RT's. The normal deal is for 4 issues for a £1 so definitely a deal. :-)
#5
Won't include the Xmas issues. Wonder if the deal will still be available over Xmas like the one last year.
#6
Think I'll wait and get it closer to Christmas, thanks anyway OP
#7
Great For the December Issue, have some heat!

hot for the picture of Nigella!!
#9
I am afraid Nigella isn't that slim! :D
#10
better to buy weekend paper and get tv page free , had this offer once , not that good a mag ! save your money & buy some cheese ! oO
#11
Leave it a couple more weeks and you'll get this Xmas edition. Used this deal a couple of years running now.
#12
try this in November to catch the Xmas 2 weeker
#13
Shame to see Nigella conforming to the perceived norm, it was so nice to see a curvier lady as opposed to the skeletal Kiera Twice-Nightly types!

Anyways.. I've subscribed to this deal previously and think they are good value (also did one for my parents!), but you do have to keep your eye on your bank statement to find out when they take the £1 fee out, and then cancel quite quickly after this otherwise they take the next 6 months subscription out of your account well in advance of the 6 months. Bit of a worry trying to time it right but lots of people do it! I'm going to leave it nearer christmas though to try and get the christmas edition!

Thanks op. Heat added.

There migth be a better deal here 12 issues for £1, includes Xmas issue.

If you do the 12 issues offer, when would you suggest cancelling the order? Do you cancel it with magazine people, if so how, and do you ever bother cancelling the direct debit? Thanks.

On the 12 weeks for £1 offer thread folk have suggested calling them to cancel and then cancelling the direct debit. The people on the phone seemed helpful when I called them yesterday. Contact details on the contact us part of the magazine web site. They also email you / post you the start and end dates for the 12 week offer and so you should have plenty of time to cancel.

Dear Subscriber

Thank you for placing your order for a Radio Times Subscription. Unfortunately, the offer code that you have used RTE1012B – with the offer - 12 issues for £1 is reserved exclusively for recipients of a personally addressed email acquisition campaign from Radio Times. The email address that you have used to process your order, [xxxxxxxxx.com], was not on the list of recipients who were sent this offer. Therefore, we are unable to process your subscription order.

I got the same email as well.

I can understand why they might decide to only allow targeted email addresses get the £1 offer but it's a bit poor that it's taken them several days to "notice" this. Couldn't they have just checked it when they "confirmed" the subscription several hours after the initial order email? Given that the mag is filled to the brim with ads, they get cheap business rate postage that normal punters could only dream of and you're really only paying a nominal amount to cover a bit of admin then it's a bit cheeky.

Anyway, yeah, add me to the list of people who've just had their order cancelled. Bah humbug!! :p
#22
Yep, scuppered. :(
#23
cancelled for me as well.

Now they have our details on the system maybe they will target us in the future :)
#24
Me too - same e-mail as above. You would have thought that with all the potential future purchases they would ahve honoured the deal. Never mind.
#25
I received the same email.
#26
Yep me too

Disgraceful they are not honouring this deal.....
#27
Me also.

Did they not say to you they were cancelling most orders for 12 for a £1 ??
#29
Right I have tried yet again with the 6 issue offer, will see what happens
#30
Also got cancelled but a bit annoyed. The email said I had used a promotion code to get this offer but I never entered one - I just followed the link on the buysubscriptions website. Isn't this false advertising?

Just ordered :)

You don't need a code, the offer is available direct from their front page.

>Front page
>Special offers
>Radio Times

Lets hope it arrives.

Voted HOT!
#34
cancelled on me too.....
#35
Same here, got an email from them saying they can't follow through with the order as my email address wasn't on the list :-(
#36
I've tried again using the front cover then 'special offers' to see what happens and if I get refused this time I'm complaining
#37
To those that got a cancellation email, are you absolutely sure it was for this deal and not the 12 for a quid deal?

The cancellation email that was posted earlier does not relate to this deal (wrong code ;))

You'll still get the Christmas edition with this offer :)

Who can't take up the offer?

Those without internet access perhaps?
But then they won't be able to see HUKD either ...
