A high percentage of 1 star reviews on amazon:

These are all based on the programming bugs that were sorted out by the time that the magazines started reviewing it. It's not won plenty of plaudits in that area.

Read the reviews that I posted in the OP :)

Seems worth a punt at this price, worst case is I have to read 6 months worth of What Hifi and flog the remote :@)
#6
does it work with ps3?

cant really find info usingf google
#7
But are the ones they're giving out here the ones with the bugs fixed? That seems unlikely to me. Surely this is the dodgy old stock?

It's not the remote that had the bugs. It's the software or programming. This has long since been fixed on the One For All website.

Nope, as it isn't bluetooth. Unless you get a infra red remote adaptor for the PS3 and you can control it that way, apart from turning it on that is. :)

Trying saying that after you bought a £500 van den hul optical cable they said would give your system "more timing and focus". What HiFi, What Snake Oil more like...

The remote for 1/4 price is a no brainer tho, hot!

"FREE Xsight Touch Remote Control when you subscribe to What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision! Plus save 16% on the shop price and pay just £22.75 every 6 issues by Direct Debit, unless you cancel. "

What does "unless you cancel" mean?

It means they will automatically renew your subscription via Direct Debit every 6 months. So if you don't want it anymore you need to cancel at the end of the 6 months :@)

any idea of how many are available, I can't find anything on the site? I've subscribed to a magazine before just for the gift, but they said the gift had ran out and they sent a rather disappointing alternative!
#14
Fair point Krato - no mention of alternatives on the page though.

No smallprint immediately noticable either.

Gotta be some.

Do you have to wait 6 months or can you cancel after they take the first direct debit, thus only paying 6 months?

If you dont get the remote, cancel for a full refund.
#17
You have to cancel towards the end of the subscription I think, usually 30 days notice. Mind you always just cancel it at your banks end when you have the free gift! :@)
#18
Does anyone know what is the average time for these type of free gifts normally get delivered?

I need a new remote but don't want to wait 6 months for it.
#19
Tempted, i have the harmony 555 at the mo!
#20
Seems like a hot deal!

Is this the same £100 remote that you can get from Maplins for £39.99 delivered?
http://www.maplin.co.uk/one-for-all-xsight-lite-universal-remote-control-508005?c=froogle&u=508005&t=module

It clearly states 'xsight touch' in the OP, yet you've posted a link to the 'xsight lite'

Any cashback available?
#23
Ordered, waiting for the disappointing email.
#24
Q. My order comes with an introductory gift - when will the gift arrive?
A. Gifts typically take up to 35 days to be delivered, and can sometimes arrive before the delivery of your first issue.
#25
worth a punt thanks :)
#26
this is meant to be better than <50 quid logitech harmonies?
#27
whathifi NOOOOOOOOOO
#28
Don't forget to take screen shots, I'm not going to go for the deal but if you do make sure you get screenshots as evidence in case they try and dispute it.
#29
thanks OP. Ordered.
#30
Cheers, ordered.

While the Harmony 300 was fine to start with, a remote with more fully featured activity support is definitely worth having.

The One For All RF to IR bridge looks pretty neat too.
#31
ordered thanks op
#33
Glad Im up late! Amazing deal!
#34
Ordered. Thanks op! I will have the next 6 issues of What HiFi, sealed, unread for sale at 50p each plus P&P if any ones interested :p
banned#35
Took the plunge, hope they send out the remote soon.
#36
I've gone for this too. As stated earlier, I'll cancel the direct debit at my bank as soon as the remote arrives.
#37
Thanks gone for this.
#38
Almost tempted to get this but on the other hand that review made the touchscreen look dodgy as hell and I think it would start to irritate me.
#39
I like this but how do you control an amp? as there are not the extra buttons for the surround sound options or is there a extra button which can be programmed?
i have a harmony 525 and cannot get on with it so still got 5 remotes.

Well Worth a Punt!
