For all pay monthly customers but not PAYG. Starts 19th of July. Not just for new customers which is a refreshing change.

Text MUSIC to 150 to get things started.

(If you've previously had an Apple Music trial from EE it will instruct you to text STREAM to 150)

http://ee.co.uk/why-ee/apple-music (don't click link above as it's redirecting to Three for some unknown reason)

****If you've previously had the 6 months trial from EE you will only receive the free streaming, not another 6 month subscription (thanks NIgelK)****

It's not officially been revealed by EE yet but it says no data charges in all the articles online.

They are not giving Apple Music free. They are just offering the data free which you will use in listening for Apple Music.

The legal bitApple Music

The individual Apple Music membership add-on is free for 6 months for customers joining or upgrading to a new EE pay monthly or SIM only phone plan and adding the add-on to their account for the first time, or by invitation only. Must be added within 30 days of joining or upgrading. After 6 months, membership automatically renews and you’ll be charged £9.99 a month unless you cancel. If removed from your account during the free period, you’ll be unable to get the add-on again free of charge. Requires a handset using either iOS 8.4 or Android 4.3 or later. Apple ID required for full functionality. Data usage will decrement your data allowance. Apple Music is for your personal, non-commercial use in the UK only. This offer is non-transferable. Not available with any other Apple Music membership offer. Apple Music terms apply . For more details go to ee.co.uk/applemusicterms

'hence by invitation only' , voting down.

My text from EE indicates it is just the data they are giving free it does not mention free 6 months Apple Music.

That's not applicable to this deal. The deal isn't live until the 19th, the page the link takes you to is EE's regular Apple Music page and that "legal bit" is about the current Apple Music offer they've had for a while.
Check back on the 19th.

Got a text earlier from EE saying : From 19 July you can get six free months of Apple Music, we'll also cover the data you use to stream and download music without using your data allowance. We'll be in touch soon with more info.
So looks like you get Apple music free for 6 months and the data.

It does love totally screwing with album artwork. Replacing it with some random compilation album a track was on is one of their favourites.

If I have a 2gb EE Plan, and I get this add-on

Will it use the 2gb data or is it SEPARATE?

Doesn't this go against net neutrality? Getting some data metered differently to other data? I get that in this particular instance it's a plus for the consumer, but feels like a slippery slope. Voted hot for the deal anyway just curious what others think.

Inb4 keep your politics out of it, this is a deal site, only price matters etc etc...

It doesn't even consider the data as data - you'll just find that the data used is treated as if you haven't used it at all. They obviously know the address from which the data is sourced so they can whitelist it.

I signed up to Apple Music from launch & finished with it a couple of months ago. I found spotify to be far, far superior. Just couldn't get on with Apple Music.

This style of offer has been in place for years - e.g. three used to offer free MSN messenger yonks ago. I can only think that the idea in these sort of cases is that there is no throttling or deterioration of service occurring on the part of the user in terms of the competitive services - such as Deezer or Spotify. In other words the user is still able to use those services as normal and without any change to the quality or reliability of the service. The only think the network is doing is to offer a partnership advantage to a given service that benefits the end user - everything else remains the same. I expect a breach would be if EE went into partnership with Apple and offered Apple Music whilst throttling Spotify and others such that users were given a worse experience.

It's both if you've never had the six months trial before through EE, data only if you've had the trial before. Six months free Apple Music for EE customers who haven't had the trial before.

EE sent me the text despite them knowing I'm using a Windows Phone and so therefore can not use the offer, not that I would've bothered anyway.
#35
Does this offer applies to BT customers aswell as the service provider is EE?
#36
Read it and you'll see it's the T&C's for the previous free trial. Not been updated for this deal yet.

I'm relieved I'm not the only one. Just couldn't find anything. I enjoy Spotify & have a family account for me, the mrs, sister & our house Sonos. They've got to go a long way to win me back.

I have a running contract (6 months), and have free 6m apple music, which I never bothered to use. Can I use it now, or is it too late to start?

(I didn't receive similar text yet)
