Heck, it might not be the best magazine in the world, but this seems a pretty decent deal to me, especially if you are after Monster Hunter anyway. They always give out free gifts with the mag too, which is a bonus.

£19.99 for a copy of Monster Hunter Tri and a 6 month sub to Official Nintendo Magazine. Best price for the game alone is £16.99 @ Amazon, so that makes the 6 month magazine sub work out @ £3.

UPDATE: There is also a possible £7 available through Quidco. Follow the Quidco link to myfavouritemagazines, then change the url to http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/ONMW12/

Quidco tracked correctly at £7 for me, within an hour of placing the order.

Thanks to dnlvry for the feedback on Quidco :)

Yes, remember to cancel the DD as soon as the first issue pops through your letterbox ;)

I'm thinking of getting a sub for my son, as he is Nintendo mad. Can't decide whether to go for this, or a 12 month sub using my Clubcard points.....

I don't know if you can get cashback, as I can't find the deal on the main MyFavouriteMagazines website - only via the link at Official Nintendo Magazine. Maybe you could go via Quidco, then jump to this url - it might work? Worth a go, anyway.

Need to be aware this is a 15-certificate game though. May not be suitable for all.

Thanks, ordered the magazine! I went through quidco and once on the site changed the address to http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/ONMW12/ - this takes you to the deal. Fingers crossed the cashback works :)

Cool - let me know if it tracks, as I might try that myself.

It's already tracked @ £7 - I'm surprised it was so quick!

Brilliant. I am going to give that a go then. Thanks for the feedback :)

I've subscribed to this magazine 3 separate times over the last few years, and only once did I get the subscription bonus.... usually fobbing me off with the old "limited stock, first come first serve" rubbish. So just a warning to make sure you really want the magazine and not just the game, and if you do go for it then stand your ground and hassle them for your game if you don't get it.

My Quidco has also tracked @ £7 :)

Thanks for the info, Crofteh - I will be sure to keep on top of them regarding Monster Hunter Tri. There is nothing in their T&C to say that it is subject to availability, and the order confirmation specifically states "6-Monthly Direct Debit + Monster Hunter Tri".

I had an issue with the "Official PlayStation Magazine (UK)" from the same retailer.

The "free gifts" were a Blu-ray Disc of either "Rambo" (latest) or "Men in Black", and a Sackboy toy figure.

Both took over a month to arrive & when the Blu-ray Disc finally turned up (two weeks after the Sackboy toy) it was not the selection I had made.

I contacted MyFavouriteMagazines & over two weeks later when they replied I was asked to send both the toy & the Blu-ray Disc back so they could return the correct Disc (& the toy!).

I told them not to bother as a) I couldn't see the necessity to send the toy back, & b) I did not want to wait another month.

The monthly magazines typically arrive a week in advance of their availability in newsagents though.

fp.

Excellent deal! thank you:) heat added!

Even though I've gone for this, I'm curious as to how the offer works. The website sells subscriptions of a minimum length of 12 months. Are we legally obligated to cancel our DDs after the first issue arrives?
#17
I don't know StolenDiagram - I am only planning on taking a 6 month sub, and will cancel my DD once I receive my first issue. Their T&C clearly state that you are entitled to cancel your DD under the Direct Debit Guarantee. I would do the same if I had taken one of their '3 issues for £1' subscription offers.

Just ordered, also used the £5 off code and ordered a Computer Arts subscription (3 issues for the price of 1). Total for both magazines was £27.68, of course including the Wii game, still waiting for my £7 Quidco cashback to be tracked, which should mean I only spend £17.68 total.

Will hassle them if I don't get the track, and will hassle them if I don't get the game! Roughly when should we expect the game to arrive?

What do the terms & conditions say? Within 28 days?

I can't see any T&C's regarding arrival of the game?

No, there aren't any. I would hope it would arrive around the same time as the first issue, but they might need chasing.

In which case, the period defaults to that quoted with the Sales of Goods Act, specifically the Distance Selling Regulations.

These state that goods must be delivered (or the service carried out) within the time period specified. If no time period is specified, then the statutory time limit is 30 days (unless you have agreed otherwise).

If the supplier is unable to fulfil their obligations within these 30 days, they must inform you before the end of the 30 day deadline.

They may offer you an alternative date for delivery, but you are under no obligation to accept and are within your rights to ask for a full refund.

My copy of Monster Hunter Tri arrived this morning. Brand new and sealed, and before my first magazine. Sweet.
