Have been buying these for the past year as my DAB radio eats a 6 pack every month. Not got the power of Ducacells but they are 1/3 the price. Last few left (Southampton has 45 boxes though)

Why do you not use rechargeables??

does anyone knows where to find those things that converts your AA to D type battery? like a hollow D shape battery and you can put your AA into it

Had a look a few months ago and it it came out around £35 (12 batteries plus charger capable of re-charging 6 batteries at a time)

Would that not be cheaper in the long run though... and you don't need a charger to do 6 at a time, 4 would be suffucuent, and do them in two lots. Think of the environment!!!

I did which is why I have reverted back to my 40 year old Telefunken Bajazzo. Oh I also have solar water heating, walk to work, drive a diesel that does 55mpg, have a solar panel on the garage and ride a mountain bike to the pub, recycle paper, bottles etc. Is that green enough for you? ;0)

LOL ok ok good answer. I hope you don't ride the mountain bike back from the pub though!

You can buy 6 rechargeable D size batteries for less than £6 at Lidl when they do them.
Why not buy 12 & a battery charger from either Lidl or Aldi (£3.49-£3.99)?
Total cost around £15-16
You don't have to charge 6 at a time do you???
Do 4 and then 2!!
Those converters can be bought cheaper from Maplins by the way.
