6 rechargeable AA USB batteries for £25.97 inc Google checkout. These work out more expensive than wall rechargeables but if you have a laptop with you then you can recharge on the move which may be handy. Apparently cheapest on the netaccording to ebuyer before Google discount so should be competitive.

From Ebuyer;
The USB port is becoming more and more useful. First came the memory card with the built-in USB plug, now comes the USB-charged battery! Moixa Energy have developed the USB Cell as an environmentally-friendly alternative to normal AA batteries. The top of one side flips up to reveal a USB connector, and the battery simply plugs into an open port.

The convenience of the USB Cell means that you don't have to carry around a separate charger or cables, and can charge it in a game station, as well as in keyboards and monitors with USB sockets.

It takes five hours to charge one of the cells if it was fully discharged.
Because the batteries are fully rechargeable, you never need to throw them away, think of all the money you will save compared to when you buy countless amounts of regular batteries!

Features:

* No need for extra cables or chargers
* Charges from any USB port
* Has a capacity of 1300mAH
* Works with PC and MAC

Remember seeing these on the Gadget show about a month back and they gave them a decent review

I can't see these being much use or hold a decent charge. Probably in a year or two the technology will be better.

£25.97 for six 1300mAH rechargeable batteries! Cold I'm afraid. Nice idea charging them via USB but come on, the price is mental lol.

Official site if your interested.

good idea, but very expensive for such a low ampage battery

Cannot really see the point of these...you can buy a charger with 4 x 2500 rechargeables for less than a tenner.

The price is due to the USB factor... Although the price is still not entirely justified:

For desktop owners you will have access to a power supply (mains socket, via extension etc) so the batteries will be pointless since you could buy 4 x 2500mAh good batteries for <£7. If your a laptop user your battery prob. wont last long enough to fully charge the batteries, so again a bit pointless. The batteries CAN still be charged via a normal wall charger, in which case you are MUCH better off buying normal rechargeables.

Im not voting cold as I am a massive fan of gadgetry, but I still feel that the manufacturer of these batteries are being too greedy with the pricing - At £5 for 2 I think a lot of folk would buy some, but at £12 for 2 you could buy 8 x 2500mAh Energizer's for about the same price.

The price is £10.99 (Free delivery, price includes VAT) for 2, but it's still a joke even though I like my gadgets too.
