It's actually not that hot. If it had individual switches......maybe. I bought a 6x surge protection individual switched adapter for £2.99 from ebuyer (sold out now but will have them again soon).

i was literally thinking yesterday i need an extension cable with a switch which i can reach...why doesnt anyone produce those things? then this post comes along! guess i know where to get one now.

These are practical for sure whether they're a hot deal or not though is debatable in my opinion

It's not that good a deal?

You're not comparing like for like, I have not seen one of these before. If you want to turn off the lead without bending down or crawling behind the sofa to get the socket or you want to hide all the plugs under the tree for your xmas lights it's bloody marvelous and I don't see what this has to do with a surge protected socket?

It's for a different purpose. If your granny wants lights on an xmas tree for example why would she want a 6 socket individual switched surged protected socket?

For what it is I think it's handy.

Great for your Christmas lights. Quality too. TUV tested

Oh dear. Next you'll complain that it's not 1080p either!

This is perfect for when your Lidl remote sockets go faulty!

Have you got a link for that? Sounds pretty good :)

I know what you mean, as individual switches can be handy, but it's never going to work for this type, it would need 6 foot switches!

OK for what it is, I tend to use remote switches for this sort of purpose, but this would be just as handy in lots of situations

You're better off using a remote controlled multi adaptor from tesco etc. these switch on/off individual items even from an adjacent room!!
How about that for control & efficicency? (e.g. turn on light bathroom/hall /kitchen before you get there)

Yes, that's what I tend to use, but you need to have the remote at hand, (and it's another remote to go down the back of the sofa!) the unit is permanently live on standby (although consumes very little) and this is a much simpler arrangement.

This is a great product. I got really miffed having to crawl under my desk after every time I used my computer, just to power down completely (especially because my speakers were buzzing in standyby)!.
Hot from me cus I no longer bang my head!
