vodafone are doing a sim only deal, as the title says 600 mins unlimited texts and free calls 24/7 to 3 vodafone numbers of your choice for £20 a month no contract just pay monthly,.apparantly £90 quidco payable after 4th month which would make it a very nice deal in my humble opinion.
have added vouchers the free bluetooth worked for my daughter even tho it is not strictly a contract deal

mobile contracts always seem to get voted cold

Its a good deal, not tied into any lengthy contracts and to be honest, you get 4 months free + a tenner to stick in your back pocket (via quidco payment), so hot for me
#3
I know!!
however this doesnt lock you into a contract tho, seems a good alternative to PAYG which even if you only top up £5 a week gets you not a lot for the same money

so really its £20 for 600 texts in essense where as you can go on a contract and get that as well as x network calls for about the same money

The T&C state minimum term is 12 months and then 30 days to cancel, doesn't seem to clear at all.

Continues for the period of 12 months running from the date of the connection of your mobile device or your upgrade or recommitment (as appropriate) unless your price plan specifies a longer period, in which case the longer period applies. If you wish to bring the Agreement to an end you must give one calendar month's written notice to expire on or any time after the expiry of the minimum period.

But below it confirms it is a 30 day rolling contract.

Just to confirm x network minutes (see below)

I'm on this deal and can highly recommend it.i got the free bluetooth headset and quidco has tracked at £91
I will be cancelling after the 5th month as that is when i need it to and it is a 30 day notice contract not a 12 month tied in one.

My girlfriend has been on this exact deal for the last few months except it has no "four favourite numbers" thingy.

Do you think they'll add it on if she rings customer services?
#13
T mobile do these deals downside you pay for voicemail

I have to renew my Vodafone contract, are they likely to better this via renewals, or will I be better cancelling my current contract then opening a new account to get the quidco? Would I be able to keep my existing number?

I had a vodafine simn only contract, be aware that to cancel you cannot cancel over the phone (unlike 02 and t-mobile while I was testing thier sim only plans for coverage), you have to write a letter and post it to them, after which they send you one back saying that they are sorry that you are think of leaving ect and that unless they hear from you again they will cancel the contract after the end of next month!

So basically make sure that if you are thinking of cancelling, start writing the letters ect a month before you want to cancel! Or budget the extra month that you end up having to pay...

what are data charges>?>
want to get it for my iphone 1g

I called them. Told them about quidco and got the above contract for £12.50pcm thats essentially £240 for 12 months less £90. So no need to hope that quidco comes through as the discount has already been applied.

Not if you call voicemail by ringing your own phone number. It works exactly the same except the call comes out of your minutes instead of you being charged extra for it.

Wrong. It's actually a 30 day rolling contract. There is some weird kind of term in the t+c's saying something about 12 months that tends to confuse most people but trust me it's only 30 days.

Why it says that I just don't know it seems rather stupid.

Can this work on Vodaphone? I've just gone and ordered this and afterwards noticed that Voicemail in not included, doh!

I've just tried it on my girlfriends phone (ringing her own number) but it doesn't work. It does get through to her voicemail as such but in the same way that you would if you were calling from another phone to record a message - as opposed to allowing you to listen to previous messages.

I've just transfered from Virgin to O2 and when I was on Virgin you could do this trick by ringing your own number so I assumed all networks would be the same but obviously they're not.

However it does say on Voda's price plan that voicemail calls are charged at the same rate as fixed line and other Vodafone mobiles (ie. 15p per min) but you only normally get charged that AFTER your 600 mins have ran out so presumably voicemail calls just come out of your minutes? Might be worth a call to customer services to check.
#35
Seems like a good deal to me so voted hot. Although not temped to stray from T-mobile, 300 mins and 100 texts with a new handset every 18 months for £16.50 suits me fine.
#36
Still a good deal, £91 tracked for me a month ago
