The famous MacHeist bundle is back again.
For $39 (currently £26.80) you get all of the following applications for your Mac
iSale
Picturesque
SousChef
World of Goo
PhoneView
LittleSnapper
Acorn
Kinemac
WireTap Studio

And if you buy it fairly quickly you will also get the bonus of Big Bang Board Game

Then there are 3 more apps which will be unlocked (for everyone who has ever bought the bundle) when enough people buy the bundle.
These are:
BoinxTV
The Hit List
Espresso

Seems like a pretty good deal to me, if you have a Mac. Helps to support independent developers and gives you a whole lot of legitimate software to play around with.

There is a also a scheme where if you sign up through somebody else's link they will gain some extra apps for free. So some potential to do some cross pollination of links and all get more for free.

To kick it off, my link is http://www.macheist.com/bundle/u/18305/
So if you appreciate this deal, buy through this link and I will get an extra application for free. Once I have got the extra app, I can replace the link with someone else's.
Don't worry though, the 'Go to deal' link just takes you straight to the page without benefitting me. Hope that is ok.

$600 is a bit of a fib, especially considering that most of this software is rather basic and you'll probably find superior open-source freeware alternatives for all. But then, I guess that's why they're marketing this with the charity attachment, and the group goal promotion. Makes it seem more like a nobel cause to the consumer than a shovelware marketing campaign.

That said, World Of Goo is great fun.

But as you said you can get most/all this software open source, and some of it better in some peoples opinions. And yes the charity thing is good, but why not get the open source stuff and give a charity of your choice 50% of the money you could spend on this deal? then they get twice as much, it goes to a cause you believe in greater, and you still save 50% yourself!
