Voted hot as this is a better deal than the any selected game offer at £169.99.
Controller is at least £30 and FIFA 09 about £40 so you're making a saving of £60 (as you're paying £10 more than the base console).

This is even better than the Sainsburys' standalone deal at £139.99 if you're after an additional official controller. You could sell FIFA 09 to GameStation or Blockbusters straight away and get at least £25 back.

Voted hot, good find

Great deal, heat & rep added.

After selling FIFA09 for £25ish, I'll end up with a 60gb 360 + controller for £155. Even if Sainsburys had stock at £140 (which the don't seem to do), I've still got an extra controller for £15. Off to gamestation tomorrow, cheers.

good deal, but i think u can get a controller for £20 online? and fifa £30? still a good deal though voted hot

great deal if you really shopped around you could get the wireless controller for £22 delivered and fifa for £29.97 from tesco(until sunday), which still beats the sainsburys deal thats if you can get hold of one and my nearest is 34miles away

£27 cash at CEX so £28 at Gamestation to exchange Fifa 09 :-)

So even if you could manage to get these two items for those prices (unlikely), It's £50 on top of the ridicuous (and some might say unobtainable) £140 sainsburys offer which totals £190. This deal is £180 so HOT HOT HOT!

Local Tesco has long since ran out of the Fifa offer - in fact there was a a small war going on at the entertainment desk with loud mouth chavs arguing with a manager about it - so I think even pretending that you can get fifa for £30 is a bit mad tbh.

There were at least 5 copies available at Bury today at £29.97 so its another how lucky and what region you live in? I dare say stock is replenished over the period of the offer much like Sainsburys deal limiting it to so many per delivery?

I dare say there will be more deals in the run up to xmas, i would really like one at the £99 price mark like the Sainsburys deal but this seems a nice deal if you need the extras and really want to get online with it.

The guy in gamestation when I was chatting to him on Friday said as well that if you part exchange a PS2 with 5 games then you can get the 360 60GB with Fifa 09 for £139 (tho he didnt mention the extra controller, might be a different deal) so if you have a PS2 then that might be a good way of saving even more cash?

Uhhhh, no you're talking *****.

Its very easy to pick up a controller circa £20, and FIFA as stared can be purchased for £29.99 at Tesco...

So don't come that silly aggressive tone if you don't mind!

Its not unlikely, and its not very clever giving the wrong impression to people little boy.

Wasn't being agressive - sorry if it came across like that. Fair enough, if you think you can get a controller + FIFA for £50, it still makes this a better deal than the sainsburys one (as long as you want the items or don't mind selling them on) so my point still stands.

Now some people might say that is being aggressive/insulting - no need to make it personal.

Come on, lets be friends! We all think this is a good deal right?

Tesco offer is only this weekend, they're not going to get an EUK delivery on a Sunday because EUK do not work Saturday - I live in the Nottingham area and every Tesco in the area is cleared.

Finster, I'm with you on this one. Chill out people...
#21
With regards to the deal, is it really that good? Knocking £30 off for Fifa makes it £150 for the extra controller and no games? How much is the extra wireless controller worth???

I've only started looking at 360's so I'm no expert. There was a price drop a couple of weeks back that was reported in a few places (like here) bringing the premium model down to £170. The online price seems to be about £160. There is a sainsburys deal posted here where they are selling it for £140. A lot of people (including me) are struggling to find a store that has them in stock (although a lot of people have been successful).

So the £150 that you mention seems like a good deal - you're effectively getting the hot sainsburys deal and a wireless controller for a tenner (they can be picked up for £20 if you shop around apparently). As I said, only good if you want the extras/don't mind selling them on.
#23
I agree, top deal so I'm off to the shops today!

Remember not to compare this to the Sainsbury's £99.99 Arcade Offer. The comparison should be made with the £139.99 60Gb Pro offer. If I didn't have an X360 60Gb already, than I would have gone for this as it's terrific value and FIFA 09 is meant to be a great game. It's an improvement over FIFA 08 and is more simulation based and has the official club licencing which I believe PES 2009 does not - read the reviews!

Yes - it really is that good a deal! If you want a game, then keep FIFA09 or buy a cheap or used game with the money you get back for FIFA 09. You don't get a game with the Sainsbury's deals.

You might think that most of the time, you'll be playing solo so don't require the extra controller but over time, you might want one and the cheapest you can currently get an official wireless controller is the Blue one for £21 from DVD.co.uk (White is £23). Most other online prices for the controller is around £32. For FIFA 09, an extra controller is essential because it's definitely a bigger thrill playing against somebody in the same room so why not make it a social event?

Halo 3, COD4, Gears Of War, PGR4 for example make use of extra controllers for when you have a friend over. Rez HD makes use of the extra controller by you strapping it to yourself as it pulses to the sounds and visuals.

You'll get at least £15 - £20 for reselling the controller - maybe more because you'll be selling it as sealed, new and unused in original packaging (as it will be from shop stop - not bundled in the box with the console). So effectively, you'll be getting the 60Gb Pro for £130 - £10 cheaper than Sainsbury's.

This deal is all the more attractive because it is difficult (but not impossible) to get the Sainsbury's deal due to availability and the number of stores that sell consoles. For anybody wanting an extra controller, or both FIFA 09 and the controller, this deal is a no-brainer.
#26
I've put my money where my mouth is and just been down and bought one. Took a printout from the website but there was no need, as a box with the package details was sat on the shelf.

Incidentally, I asked for the trade-in values - £25 for FIFA and £12 for the controller - this means that if you want only the console effectively the price is £143 (£180-£25-£12) which is only a few quid more expensive than the sainsburys deal. If you want FIFA and/or a controller - even better!
#27
They should offer £28 for Fifa as Cex offer £27 and they'll match it plus a quid.

Tried getting a controller from PC World and Currys for cheaper, no joy, so this deal looks great!

That's not very nice robo989 - there's no need to be condescending as finster and everyone else on here (you included) are only trying to help. I did not detect a silly nor agressive tone from Finster. It was only a statement or even opinion that it would be unlikely to get hold of the Sainsburys deal (note - it was not stated as impossible).

Congratulations - you must have a smile going from ear to ear! Even though I got mine before the recent round of price cuts - I'm still happy but I'm still looking for an extra controller and a copy of FIFA 09 would be nice! I waited 9 months before taking the plunge. There's new deals coming out all the time so I wouldn't worry about waiting till the best deal arrives otherwise you'll never buy a console. £12 trade-in for the controller is a bit rubbish really - you should be able to get at least £20 for it on Ebay or from a friend who is looking for one.

I second that. Gamestation promise to beat any other exchange deal from a retailer.
#29
what percentage is the quidco for this deal when buying it online?

It's just 2% because it is deemed to be a Hardware deal. That gives you £3.60 cashback but courier delivery is £4.95 so you're better off buying it directly in person if there is a store you can get to cheaply. If you're spending more than £1.35 to travel purely to Gamestation, than home delivery makes more sense. If you work within reasonable walking distance to a store like I do (or better, live near one), then it's free to walk to it!

Also factor in the time it takes for you to travel, browse the store, and queue up (depending how busy it is) and then get served and then wait for your new package to be bagged up. Heck - I'd go for home delivery unless you get a thrill from the in-store shopping in person experience.

Don't forget to pay with a cashback credit card too like AMEX which gives you 5% cashback in the first 3 months which gives you another £9.25 cashback (5% of £184.95 online price inc delivery) at best!

Anyone kow when this deal ends? on another thread its metioned that it ended sunday, is that true i was going to get one monday morning
#32
I hope it doesn't end Sunday, I didn't get there today but I've got tomorrow off so I'm picking one up tomorrow :-o
#33
Picked mine up this morning, and traded Fifa 09 right back to them for a £28 credit note :-)

So I got a 60GB Xbox360 with 2 wiresless controllers for £152!

Thanks to the OP.
#34
Got this from Gamestation. Good deal. Mine has a manufacture date of 26.08.2008, which means it could have the new, less power-hungry Jasper motherboard.

Think the Sainsbury's ones were old stock and likely to be the old Falcon motherboard.

Less likely to get the red ring of death.
#35
Is this still the best deal around for an Xbox 360 60GB? Looking at getting one and seems to be the best deal due to the wireless controller.
