I think this is a great family car with awesome price. It promise combined 72.4 MPG (I am sure it is not possible to achieve this but still can be used as an indicator). Road tax is just £20.

Now showing as £9788

Does seem a good price but it's from Arnold Clark, voted cold.

I have one of these, mine is the higher spec version with alloys, cruise control, climate control, bluetooth kit. It looks like a saloon but is a hatchback with a massive boot. It's looks Astra size but is in fact as big inside as a old Vectra. Driving it sensibly I get about 60mpg from my (105bhp) 1.6 tdi combined. It's the same car as the Skoda rapid built on the same production line and just given a slightly different body. Interior plastics are cheap and a bit rattly but aside from that it's a nice enough car and fantastic value. The list if I remember for a new one is about 15k. Lots being used as taxi's round here.

You don't have to buy from them, I've used their price on a Golf to bash one of my local dealers into submission on matching the price. Pretty hard to argue with black and white price, especially when its an actual dealer/franchise rather then Internet site like drive the deal (where dealers think they can dissuade you by saying the Internet bogey man will get you).

Voted cold. Arnold Clark. Have had horrible experience with them buying a 1-year old car. Had to visit the garage 5 times for separate issues. Raised this as a complaint and was presented with nonsensical car salesman speak in response. Customer resolutions manager?!? Yeah, maybe in your own lunchtime! Will never return to them....

also is it a pre-reg?

It is on a 63 plate when 14 plates have been issued since March this year and 64 are due in only 2 months. It's been sat somewhere for donkeys now

Are these new or second hand.
If second hand what is the mileage ?

Just to counter the comments about Arnold Clark.....we bought a new Nissan from them and the sales team were great. Ultra helpful but no pressure to buy. They gave us a good price and were great at sorting out a couple of little teething problems and the after sales service was excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again, but maybe we've just been lucky?

Best shape ever. Mazda 6 abandoned this type of shape with the latest model for some strange reason although that huge boot and clever back seat release mechanism made hystory

You don't need deal with Arnold Clark for problems, I deal with my local Seat dealer not Arnold Clark as will still be well within Seat 3 year warranty.

Only available in Scotland or Newcastle.

Fantastic price, especially for the MPGs, though shame the engine options are so weak, and probably could do with reverse parking sensors, but can't knock it for practicality.

HOT !

hmm OK, so what your saying is: buy a 2nd hand car it will save me money

Finding a 1 year old diesel family size car for under 10k is near impossible, finding one with Volkswagon running gear for that money is amazing to my mind.
#24
what's the real MPG around town for one of these? 50MPG?
#25
has anyone enquired about this to see what actual cost is to buy

Arnold Clark may not be good at looking after customers, but they are fantastic at lying.

This is a superb price for a nice car, and why are people saying they wont deal with Arnold Clark? Any problems you would go directly to your Seat dealer, as the car will have 3 years warranty.

Do you get a full 3 year warranty on a pre reg? If you do this is a cracking deal, still good if its 2 1/2 years i guess.

just got off the phone to AC, this is for used cars with over 10k on the clock typically. on autotrader this is the going rate for a one year old. so not really a deal.

I've the same engine in a 63 Skoda Fabia Estate. It's sluggish from the lights but has enough mid range grunt to make it a reasonable drive. I've got 4k on mine since new and am just averaging under 50mpg per tank at the moment. That's mixed use, biased towards around town. I do note that on a week when work means I bash the motorway a lot half a tank nets me almost 300 miles.

Not sure on the weight / aerodynamics of the toledo but they'll make a difference. My Fabia almost has the same drag co-efficient as a brick.

No, you get the balance of what it has from new.

This go's to show just how good the engine in my 08 Saab 9-3 is, 2L, 150 Bhp, Pulls like a mule, And returns between 50 and 60 Mpg, Does sound like a tractor when you first start it up thou.

I think it very much depends on the individual dealership and franchise with Arnold Clark.
I've got an 8 year old Seat that I bought new from them and still take for servicing etc. You might say I'm stupid but because it's Seat it's free collect and return and fixed prices up front for all standard stuff. Don't trust any of the independent garages around here.
And Seat seem to run a very tight ship on surveys etc. A couple of times I've only had the car back half an hour before an e-mail comes in from them to assess the quality.

The one I go to will also come and go on tyre pricing, won't quite match Costco pricing but will fit the tyres, do fluid top-ups etc. plus wash and vac the car so it equals out. Same Michelins as Costco do by the way.

I wouldn't buy a mars bar form Arnold Clark. Dreadful company.

How many miles have the Arnold Clark ones done? 18,000 miles in less than a year suggests it's either an ex rep mobile or rental car?

why would anyone want to buy a car from Arnold Clark ? , had the most horrendous experience previously and never again, unfortunately the arnoldsucks.com website is now closed but that was full of horror stories from unsatisfied customers
