Jump to unread Post a CommentAs said below, if you're after a fast flash drive, look at the XT and XT Rage series, those have been confirmed by professional reviews to be pretty fast, otherwise if you just want cheap reliable storage, this is a pretty good deal for a 64GB.
But it's disgusting eBuyer has resorted to blatant lying regarding the transfer speed of this flash drive though.
I'm sorry to hear that you had some performance issues with the Axle drive. Please note that because the drive is using a COB (chip on board) technology for cost effectiveness and size it's normal for the write speeds to be anywhere from 3-6MB/s. For our USB 2.0 performance drives please refer to our Rage and Xporter XT Boost drive.
Sincere Regards,
Benjamin

I just don't trust them anymore for an honest description of product and the fact that they also censor (fail to post) customer reviews. I have submitted the occasional non favourable review of a particular item that has subsequently failed to make it to the review page of those products.
And as far as their use of the word "MAX" is concerned in their description of the product, all sellers will do exactly the same.
I would also be interested in seeing if any users of this product can validate (or otherwise) the speed.

This is the third product I have purchased from Patriot now which includes Ram for my x79 and the SSD Pyro 120gig drive. So far they have served me well.
Very Small and Very Slow
==================
The drive measures an amazing 3cm in length when it is folded into its metal swivel holder. It comes formatted with FAT32 and its actual format capacity is not 64gb but 60.5gb.
The metal swivel bracket is very flimsy and as I was trying to push the USB flash drive into a USB socket, the bracket came off in my hand. This is because the bracket has two small pimples on either side that sit in tiny round grooves on either side of the actual drive. I was easily able to clip it back on but I don't think it will stay on the drive too long and I may just consider removing it altogether as it serves no real purpose.
I then tried to write 57gb of data onto the drive and it took a staggering 3 hours! You can forget about making a cup of tea whilst filling up this drive, it is so slow that even if you walked to your nearest supermarket to buy the tea, you would still come back before the drive was fully written.
Reading the data was a bit faster and it took me 1 hour to read back the 57gb files that I had stored on it.
In conclusion, if you are thinking of using this drive to store large files that you will only access from time to time then it will do the job for you. However if you intend to write large amounts of data to it daily, you might as well not bother because it is like watching paint dry.
The price for this drive is very competitive, but bearing in mind the excrutiatingly slow write speeds, I don't think its as much of a bargain as I did when I first bought it. I did post this review on the eBuyer site but it has gone "for approval" (which may take 2 -3 days according to the message I received). Wonder if they will actually print my review on the page or just delete it?

PS. Patriot is actually quite well know in the "memory" world. At least I knew it before I heard about Bushi or Intenso.

I'll second that, the customer reviews aren't worth jack as they just remove the bad ones! Also they have a stupid call ticketing system which means they can just ignore complaints/queries for as long as they like (usually til you can no longer get them under the distance selling act) & you can't follow them up/phone them etc. I stopped using them years ago...
LOL if my understanding of RMA's is right (ebuyer foot the P&P bill) lets everybody buy one and then ask for our money back. Might alter their operation a bit in future. :3
