(UPDATE: Looks like this is definitely national, but there is a similar Draper set still priced at £10 also around. Going by what people have said this set, if there are any, will be in the sale aisles not the tool aisle.)

Couldn't find my precision screwdrivers at the weekend and nearly bought a new set of no-name ones from Homebase for £7 or so - glad I held off because I spotted this set of screwdrivers in my local Asda in the "remains of the sale" aisle for £2.50. The drivers look pretty good, Draper is a reasonable brand, and it seems a pretty good way of getting a toolbox back up to spec after the screwdriver gnomes have whittled it down a bit.

As well as the precision screwdrivers and the standard drivers it's got a set of Torx bits, sockets, and so on. The Draper online catalogue is all Flash driven, so I've uploaded a screenshot of the catalogue entry in the third comment below.

Not done this much - well, once - hope this all comes through okay...

Great deal if you can get it
National ?
National ?

Don't know, I'm afraid; if anyone manages to find this anywhere other than the Jewel, Edinburgh, can they post in this thread?
Are these the monkey metal ones that get stripped by screws rather than vice versa?

I bought a toobox with a XX piece screwdriver set from Screwfix in the summer for peanuts - the screwdrivers are rubbish and generally need chucking out after one reasonable sized DIY job each (putting a bed frame together, for example) as the heads get twisted and bent by the screws!!!

I dropped another one from waist height onto a block-paved drive and the handle shattered like it was made of glass.

If these are the same, I wouldn't bother. Spend a little extra and get a decent set of say 5 screwdrivers that you can use more than once!
Agreed but handy for some of the more specialist ones for ocassional use.
I can confirm these where in Asda Coryton (cardiff) on the weekend, however I didn't notice the price.

They also had a fold away Draper work bench for £10, which I thought was an excellent deal.

Shouldn't be. While they're not Draper's "Expert" range they're at least a reasonable brand.

I've now found a direct link to the Draper's catalogue page with the screwdrivers on, and it looks like the original price of the set (to stockists and without VAT) was £17.98, so the original in-shop price was at least 21-22 quid.

On the last page of http://www.draper.co.uk/catalogue/Pagesource/p211-214.pdf
These are the same ones I bought from the AA shop a couple of years ago. Until I lost my set, they were pretty good in fact! My Dad's are still going strong and he's more than an avid DIYer.
Just to add a quick note, the cheapest I (or rather Froogle) can see this going for online is around about the £9 mark, although there are some sites at up to £21.
just got back from asda, think I might have seen this set for £10!!!

Wow, that's odd - there were tonnes (well, several) there last night and the shelf ticket (and the price I paid) was definitely £2.50.

Was that in the big display of sale stuff at the front of the store (opposite the cut flower rack) or in the usual "tools" location? If it was the latter then perhaps the shelf tickets hadn't been updated there?

Otherwise I may just have got lucky and got it just before they put the prices back up or something. :-(
if anyones near maidstone, and could get me one be fab.

These are £2.50 at asda, cribbs causeway. Loads in the sale isle no shelf label though. They definitely scan at £2.50 as i bought one.
two huge empty boxes at ours :( the £10 ones are a completely different set
Couldn't see any in the Heysham Asda store, yesterday. Lots of empty sale boxes...
Anywhere in Essex/London that this can be found? I have tried a few now and no luck :(
My local Asda in Gloucester did'nt have any :(
