yeah shame about the res
get a Novo 7 Elf for 100 ahead of this every day of the week
Got a 9.7" tab with 1024x720 now, much much better. Wouldn't go anywhere near a small tab with small resolution.

Interesting - with those resolutions and screen sizes the 7" actually has a higher DPI (133) than the 9.7" (129). The pixels are basically the same size on both. I imagine that ICS is simply better suited to a 1024x720 screen so it looks less pixelated?
(Calculator http://members.ping.de/~sven/dpi.html if anyone cares)
Where from? Can't seem to find one at that price...
But then that looks horribly grainy and pixelly to me as well, being used to my phone.
I personally think 1024x600 is the way to go for a 7 inch tab (like the ainol elf or original galaxy tab) , but they do cost a bit more.
Does anyone know of a good tablet for £100 or less please.

Already have one - so far it seems good.

Hopefully tomkirky will come back with where you can get the Novo Elf for £90.
you can't
you can pre-order for £120, which is still a good price for what is going to be a fab wee tablet, but you'll never get it for 90 any time soon
I don't think this is a good deal - it's NOT 1.23GHZ, it's clearly some variant of the Allwinner/Rockchip CPU. I've done a lot of research before I bought mine, 1GHZ is the max you are going to get (if you want stable operation).
And at a low 800x480 res - this is COLD, got to be nuts to buy this. And the battery is only 3200MAH - mine is 7800MAH, and it lasts all DAY.

I've had the NOVO ELF (paid around £90) - it's pretty good, but the screen just doesn't cut it. There is such a massive difference between the crappy LCD one and a proper IPS LCD scren, watching movies makes it MUCH better.

there absolutely is a big difference, and that tends to be about a 75 - 100% price premium
the Elf is great at what it does for the money it costs, but nobody is ever going to argue that it competes with a 2 or 300 quid IPS tablet
