PLEASE READ MY UPDATE TO THIS IN THE REPLIES BELOW. THE PRICE HAS BEEN LOWERED DUE TO THE LACK OF THE PROTECTIVE CASE AND KEYBOARD.

Right, I don't have much info on this as just got it as an email notification and it's not showing on Netto Website yet but.... This Thursday 2nd December their new deals start. The email states that the following Android Tablet will be available in store.

7" Android Tablet
Wifi
600Mhz CPU
4Gb SSD (But there's a Micro SD Card Slot so can be expanded)
128Mb Ram
mini HDMI output port.
Webcam.

There's no info on what version of Android this is. It's a 'Resistive Screen' which I know will put some off but there are benefits to Resistive (it is MUCH easier to draw on using a stylus). I think this is the same Elonex tablet that Toys R Us and Asda were selling but they're both out of stock. As the picture states: 'STRICTLY LIMITED STOCKS!'

I think it's a pretty good deal and would make a nice little Christmas Present for the kids... and some bigger kids!

Same one. Been in stock a couple of times over the last month.

Would happily pay an extra 10 to get one though.

Yep that looks like the same one mate but as I've said, Asda and Toys R Us seem to be sold out all the time now. Also, this one includes the protective case with integrated Keyboard dock.

Hi Blasphemous,
I've changed your title a bit - you put RRP as £99.99 rather than £149.99.

Update. Netto have just emailed me this:

NETTO - AMENDED PRODUCT DESCRIPTION/PRICE OF 7" Wi-Fi Touch Screen Tablet
=========================================================

Dear valued customer,

We sent you an email today (Tuesday 30th November) to advise on some of the
great offers we have in store from Thursday 2nd December - one of which is the
7" Wi-Fi Touch Screen Tablet.

Unfortunately, due to supply issues, this Touch Screen Tablet does not come with
the protective case and keyboard dock as advertised - and therefore the price
has been reduced further from £99.99 to £89.99 (RRP £149.99). This is still
however a fantastic price and will surely make a great gift this Christmas!

http://www.netto.co.uk

May we take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience this may have
caused, and we look forward to seeing you in store soon to take advantage of the
other brilliant Christmas offers currently available!

Many thanks,

Netto

Totally agree, shame the case and keyboard aren't included now but at least they dropped the price further.

£90 and in stock is perfect. Shame im not looking for on now. Would of had this a couple of weeks back.
#9
Are they actually any good ? for book reading and web browsing via wifi ? £90 is cheap, but not if its crap!
#10
Wish it wasn't resistive screen, such a shame, but a good deal.
#11
Heat added. I agree that it is a shame about the case and keyboard though, as they definitely would have been worth the £10 extra, IMO.
#12
Would love to hear from anyone who has one of these. Probably won't buy one but just interested to know what you can get out of a £100ish tablet. Whats web like, does it support flash etc. how sluggish is it is the resistive screen THAT bad etc.
#13
Apprantly it does not support flash. what is it like to surf the net on it ?

That Toys r Us one is the last one you want xD

"the worst product we've EVER reviewed in PC Pro"

Lucky to even get one star!

little bit more info and pictures Here
#22
PMSL ssd 4gb thats a flash chip ....
#23
300mhz 128mb ram geee no no

IMO you're wasting your money if you think you can get a useful tablet for £90, IMO most people will buy this, get frustrated, and then never use it again. The usable Android tablets start around £250 (Archos), with the Galaxy Tab being the best at £400+.

And even the Galaxy Tab isn't as good as the iPad, which at £330-50 odd on todays deal makes it a great deal.

unknown brand, get an iPad !!
#26
its resistive screen . not capacitve screen like ipad so not very durable. i had htc with resistive screen basically has extra layer on top of screen which wears out after time or the whole sticky layer sticks to the screen which makes it irresponsive so expect it to go faulty after 2 years

No, they're effing awful, and every time one of these deals pops up (which is way too frequently), everyone is told they are effing awful.
Yet they still get voted hot.

I had one (they are just rebranded crappy MID's from China that you can get for £60-70). Frustratingly slow, the resistive screen is horrible and difficult to use near the edges, they're so poorly made you think they'll fall apart any second.
Don't expect Android market to work.
Android 1.6, and no one will bother working on an update, official or not.

Save up and wait for a decent Android table to come out, there's many on the way.

If it doesn't support flash, then it is probably not the latest Android OS 2.2, that's a shame, was thinking of getting this for the missus
#29
You can almost guarantee this will be an awful product, it's just been rushed to market for christmas. It'll be crappy hardware combined with an operating system that isn't designed for tablets and isn't designed to work well with a resistive display. And you know the battery life will be rubbish too. But I suppose you get what you pay for, but my advice would be to either wait it out till Google brings out HoneyComb or save up for an iPad
#30
This is an awful, awful deal. Don't get sucked in by the picture or thought of a tablet.

I bought the 10" from toysrus. It froze after a couple of minutes, then would'nt turn off. Then would'nt turn on. It came back on but done same thing. I took it to the shop for a refund . They said there was nothing wrong with it. Then it froze in the shop. So got a refund in the end. And that type of screen is that bad.

What version of Android? What's the battery life like? And is 128MB RAM enough? Frankly it doesn't seem likely that this will be anything other than annoying - and I'm the kind of nerd who could actually get this working. Some "bargains" are a waste of time and money - and a LOT of these cheap tablets fall into that category.

Very, very poorly indeed.
#37
You can buy these for £52 from China. They are cheap and nasty. The 'touch' screen is not responsive at all and the battery life is crap.
#39

I'll second that. I bought one to try it out and its absolute rubbish. I use it as an expensive digital photoframe.

I've used both and the Galxay Tab seems better than the ipad. Flash support, multitasking, bluetooth, processor is more responsive, not locked down like apple do to iphones/ipads.....
