Hire a car for just £19.99 for 7 days.

You have to go thru BMI - But just click on the car hire tab.

Seems to be just Manchester airport only.

Put in any dates as long as its at least 7 days (maximum 62 days) choose manchester airport as location and uk as country of origin.

If you get page not found just click on the BMI link on that page then click on Car Hire.

Otherwise go here.......

amazing price, but would they honour it at time of rental?
#2
Tried it but no luck. Unable to book at that price.
#3
That's cheap (in good sense)!!
#4
Works fine for me. You can even hire a car from tomorrow (the 18th) to the 13th June; ie about two months of use for £158.89!!!
#5
I got as far as it asking me to confirm my reservation for £19.99 for a mid-range size motor. Picture was of a Ford Focus which is otherwise £128.99. That's some deal!

Go directly to the BMI.co.uk web site and follow the car hire tab. Don't bother with the link from the forum

didnt work for me either :(
#9
Page not found!

It would have been perfect for bringing in a ton of fags from mainland europe and not worrying about the car being confiscated!!! :whistling::w00t::oops:

Not related to this specific item.

But airport parking booked through the BMI website is also a real bargain.

I am flying out of Heathrow next week and found their car parking rates 50% less than their competitor and even cheaper than the actual car park owner (NCP in this case)
#11
I would guess BA will be doing cheap car rental soon too - so you can drive about looking for your luggage.
#12
Hertz do sometimes have amazing deals - when I went to florida, I found I could rent a Lincoln Navigator, which was one of their top cars for an amazingly low price for the week. It was a genuine deal, think it's a way to shift cars that are just sat around doing nowt. :)
#13
You do not have to go through BMI. Go to Hertz through quidco and get the same price and £8 cashback. £12 for 7 days. Thats even better.

#14
Sure looks like a cracking deal!
#15
Misprice surely.
#16
Yes, misprice, they recently (in the last year) honoured peoples rentals from heathrow for better cars. Some people had long back to back rentals rather than have a car owned by themselves.
#17
IIRC, when you do an online booking with Hertz the pick up point don't know what you paid, they just have details of what car you're having.

Mind numbingly frustrating. No evidence of this deal on Hertz website, at all. Seems pretty pointless having a 'deal' that nobody can get to. If this exists, why not post here which clicks on which page gets you to that offer - other than that, I cant help but think its April 1 all over again!
#19
y wont it let me book for 1 yr in 1 go???

if i do 2 mnth bloks it quotes me 165ish each time.............

but for the whole year it does 4500????!!!! explain please!!!
#20
Is insurance included or do you just use your own? Fancy trying this just for the hell of it for a week or two...

yeah i'd like to know this too
#24
Right couple of points.........

It clearly states "APPROXIMATE RENTAL CHARGE: 79.95 GBP
79.95 GBP (base amount) is guaranteed and was charged to your credit card when you reserved" I booked for a month as I am selling my current vehicle so it will buy me time to look for another.

Maximum 62 day rental allowed.

It says at the top of the recipt you print off - "This is your confirmation. No need to call reservations to confirm this booking"

Their small print says it includes Location Service Charge, CDW, Theft Protection, Vehicle licensing fee and Road Tax - SO INSURANCE IS INCLUDED.

It is Unlimited Free Milage.

Its an All Inclusive price.........it states its 17.01p per week for the car and 2.98 for the tax.

This is from the small print on the invoice you get when you actually book.

Oh and you have to be 25 or over.

I've gone for it. Bear in mind however, that if you click on "rate details" on page 4 of the booking process, it shows no data in the column where the prices for location fee, accident liability waiver etc should be. Therefore - they could put this ON at time of rental?

However, you can cancel and get a refund if it's within 7 days of booking. I'm going to give it 5 or 6 days, call them and see if everything is OK, and if not, get refunded. Otherwise, good deal :)
#28
I've seen these misprices before on flyertalk. They do seem to honor them. There's a thread on this deal here:

#29
ooh, for £40 you can return it somewhere else ;)
#30
iv booked mine for the 15th May anyone booked for before that date?

(The guinea pigs who have booked for tomorrow or within the next two weeks please let the others know how it goes when picking up! )
#31
Hertz are one of the worst rental companies for finding all kinds of strange charges to pad out something that initially looks like a great deal.
#32
i've booked (knowing you can cancel) .....i've now looked into it a bit deeper and it appears that you would have to pay an excess upwards of £550 unless you take out supercover at £98.70 a week.
think i'll hold onto it and see if they contact me and negotiate some future discount...but it's definitely getting cancelled tomorrow whatever
shame ....but i've got a car and can't justify 1. the extra cover 2. absorbing the excess if i have a bang
maybe worth the chance for some
#33
someone on flyertalk is picking a car up tomorrow, so we shall see ;)
#34
Booked! great find. £99.93 for 5 weeks!!!!!!!! If you cancel 7 days before you get a full refund. So I've booked a month in advance just incase I don't need it.lol!

this sort of excess is quite normal for most car rental companies to charge and so dont lose too much sleep over it!

plus you can also get it insured with your own insurance company.

CREDIT CARD/ DEPOSIT
'You must bring the credit card you used to make your reservation. Any other card you wish to use must be in your name. Most major credit cards are accepted, including American Express, Visa and Mastercard. A credit card deposit will be taken at the rental counter to cover reasonably anticipated charges that may be incurred during the rental, such as refuelling and damage costs. Debit cards are not accepted'

to make my reservation today (which was sucessful) i used my visa DEBIT CARD choices were Visa, mastercard and amex i think

if they accepted my Lloyds visa debit card for reservation am i right in saying they will accept it for the deposit?

just answered my own question

Question

Do Hertz accept Debit Cards?
Answer
You can book online and pay for your rental charges using a debit card, however a credit card in the drivers name must be presented at the counter at time of rental. Hertz do not accept Debit Cards at the rental counter.
