Define designer? BENCH is not what I would call designer frames!

Love the website name. I scratched a pair of my good ones so might be good to get a cheap pair for working on the car and things.

I too am wondering what makes this deal "useless for high prescriptions"

Higher prescriptions require more care WRT the position of the lens relative to the eye, which means the optician should carefully measure you before ordering the glasses and carefully adjust the glasses when fitting them, otherwise everything will look distorted.

And they only go up to -8 anyway :-D

It's this the PD measurement which you'll send in with your order and applies to any prescription?

Who only goes to -8 which is quite high?

PD, back vertex distance, placement of the optical centres of the lens, pantoscopic tilt, etc.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great deal for those who can make use of it, but wanted to give more detail on why people w/ high prescriptions are better off buying in person (as the website must realise - that'll be why they only sell glasses up to -8) though I can only speak for people with high minus.

How do I reply in-line on the mobile site?

Surely they go DOWN to -8?

Not DOWN to +8

Out of interest, what do you consider a high prescription??? :)

Well, -10 is the level at which the NHS deign to provide a free eye test and a few quid towards your glasses :-D

Except this is a dodgy website that attempts to flog copies from China and people actually believe they are legit.

Sheesh. Get a grip!

How do you know that?
Do you work for a high street opticians?

There is nothing wrong from buying this site or others that come from China . Have your eye test done at the local opticians , then use the prescription to buy how ever many extra pairs you want from this site. You could have a different pair for every day of the week for the same price your local optician charges you. The mark up on glasses is horrendous they only buy them for a couple of quid each.

Measure your existing glasses width and arm length. The thing to watch is you could easily end up ordering a pair that is too narrow in the width , so double check the glasses size before buying.

Why would you want to look like that?
