Windows CE means no mobile broadband, limiting it's use....

Windows CE was designed for PDA's and mobile phones.....not great for a netbook :-(

Can get similar in the UK for around £70 with no worries about duty/taxes

I'd be surprised if the processor will handle flash very well

Did not even work properly on PDAs....cold.

This is just an oversized PDA... infact my old PDA has better specs than this. :?

Mind you. Cant complain at that price...

These are crap. Just a fair warning.

I know they are cheap, but they're next to useless as a portable computer. Do yourself a favour and put £100 on top and get a decent netbook.

As an echo, get a cheap Atom-based netbook or wait for the Android tablets that are due out over the next 6-12 months.
You'll probably want a 1024x600 screen, for the horizontal resolution, at a minimum if you plan to web browse, 800x480 is a touch too small to be comfortable (YMMV).

Anything from non-EU with a value over (I believe) around £18 attracts customs duty, VAT and a Post Office handling chatge for collecting the fees. I think you can add around 25% to the price of items like this.

Voted cold.

Bad advice!

How are Tax and Customs duties handled?

Because DX sends products from Hong Kong (a free port), there is no sales tax or duties imposed by the Hong Kong government. Customers do not have to pay any sales tax or export duties when they purchase from DX.

Statistically, well less than 1% percentage of all DX orders have ever got opened by the Customs in customers' countries. If the package is checked by their country's customs office when the item arrives in their country, however, customers are responsible for import duties, tariffs, and taxes.

Although the chance of packages being Customs assessed is small, DX strongly encourages all customers to check with their local Customs office for any potential import taxes, duties, and tariffs. In addition, some products may require special licenses or permits to import (such as high powered lasers). DX is not responsible for products being confiscated by the Customs in customers' countries.
