I bought one of these to insulate my loft and it was just the job. It also has a flashing mode as well which isn't mentioned in the description.

Voted hot. Bought one of these a while ago and although the leds aren't superbright, they're certainly good enough to light up work areas in dark spaces. Well worth a pound.

Yeah I bought one too , to insulate my loft ................it makes poor insulation though ....you'll need more than one :-)

Definitely worth getting. The lamp itself is decent, with more than enough light given for most jobs (occasional camping, putting the xmas tree back in the attic).

The headband isn`t great (elastic with a hook on clip), but wouldn`t be much of a problem to replace.

Saw these in Hawkins Bazaar for £10. All the cheeky beggars had done was change the band. :{

On the opposite side to the switch the side twists about an eighth of a turn from the closed to the open position. It should have arrows. The side then pops off and the battery unit is inside. It is hard to do if you try to do it with the inside of your hand as you naturally push it inwards which grips on the rubber seal and makes it almost impossible. It is best to try and get your nails on either side and twist it without pushing it inwards. I hope this helps you.

3 x AA batteries! Heavy then?

My son's Energiser 1 takes 1 button battery - was £6 for a pack of 2 - better buy IMO

got one of these for a joke christmas pressie, wasnt that funny as he liked it. well worth sticking in your glove box.

One of the best tools for putting a PC together... ;)

£1 is well worth it, someone should of told this idiot to use this light instead of this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jW0UH4l57Tw&feature=related

They've been on the go for a while in there, mine was sticking too when I first bought it, although after a bit of brute force it opened and the 3 off AAA batteries were inserted. Well worth a £1, I keep mine just inside the loft door, so when I'm up there there's no need for juggling with a torch, just put it on and it works a treat.

Where from? I'd like to buy them at that price.

I bought two of the poundland ones a few weeks ago when they were last advertised on here, one was broken in trying to open the battery compartment, and the other just wouldn't open at all. For those that get working ones - bargain, but for me they were a waste of time.

The Poundland version weighs 125g (50g of that is the batteries). But, it doesn`t feel uncomfortable on, unless you have a giant noggin, like me, and need a larger headband. :p

Can I ask which Energiser head torch your son has, as the only one I know of that takes watch batteries is the kid`s version.

this is cheap imitation... trust me... I have another one that I got as a gift, the poundland one looks almost identical but if you take a closer look you will notice it has fewer leds and... it's impossible to open

Sensational bargain, popped down to Poundland yesterday....

Still loads left in Bromley
