Can't see where to stick this voucher in.

£42.31 is the amount it comes to after postage and tax...not a great deal I would say, also the review about the website really do not sound positive at all...
#4
Ah is it plus VAT..... I'll edit the post.

Have had mixed experiences with Unbeatable Gadgets. I placed a larg-ish order for myself and some friends to save on postage and get some Xmas gifts in early a few months back and for weeks they said my order would be delivered in their advertised timeframe (2 weeks or 10 working days). Eventually the 10th working day came and all I received was a PayPal email stating the order had been refunded (despite being advised the day before that my order was booked in to be sent that day).

Customer service left a lot to be desired; nobody made any sort of apology and they said they were within their right to do as they had done and that stock miscounts happen. They couldn't understand why I had a problem with the fact it had taken them two weeks to realise there had been a stock miscount, and why I was unhappy that the day before I had been told my order was booked to be sent, yet it was the next day (expected day of delivery) before they bothered to refund (without explanation). They also could not understand why I was upset about the fact that the refund had not been explained and that I had needed to call them to find out what had gone wrong with the order. IIRC the gentleman I spoke with was Johnny.

Saying that, I am aware there have been bargains with these guys in the past and lots of people will have had success with them. There was an issue last year iirc where they sent out a batch of radios that arrived damaged and were found to contain mercury - I picked this up from MSE when I had the problems with my last order.

It is a reasonable price for a DVD / Freeview Combi, but just be aware...

I still think its a good deal for £42.31. I paid £50 just for a portable 7" DVD Player without DVB.
It will be ideal to have in my camper van when i dont have 240 volt hook up, because it will burn very little 12 volt power.

Just thought I'd see the responses about this company before i go ahead and order it.

The tiny portable ariels are usually rubbish on these, but i have a proper fixed ariel in my camper van to plug into it.
Just trying to decide whether to take a punt on it.

Thanks and rep for the info Garbage.
I'll hold off for a while and see what other people say about the product and the company.

I've got one of these and while it's not awful I wouldn't recommend it either. It has problems with some discs that other players play fine. Its a bit clunky too, the 'built-in DVT' is actually clipped on the back and 2 leads for power (it's also the battery) and the signal from the tuner are plugged into the player.

Don't think it is region free...

I had the same experiences whilst attempting to buy the exact piece of kit. The user saying the seller's are ok must be a relative!!
In my opinion, don't waste your energy, steer CLEAR

I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole all they sell is junk do yourself a favour get one else where if you must have one and unless you have a proper aerial you wont get any free view channels and you certainly wont get any while moving.

one with divx playback from ebuyer for £50 no freeview

Why waste power on a portable device to spin a disk when you can (normally) get similarly priced ones that will run cards or memory pens - where you can have a rip dedicated to the resolution of the screen stored on your media.

I too had trouble in getting a full refund for an item which was faulty from the outset. I would not deal with them again.

I have ordered one of these the other day. I hope i get it and more importantly i hope it works.
It is no longer on the website, maybe sold out or getting more, but i didn't know you could get freeview with portable dvd's, pretty good :)

I ordered one of these on Thurs received it on Friday. I have only used the DVD player so far.

As my heavy handed 3 year old has got through a couple of DVD players already didnt want to pay a fortune. It actually seems better quality and sturdir than some of the ones I have had previously - ok I have never spent much.

I haven't played with the freeview yet but hubby is Electrical and AV so hopefully we will get something if not it is still a cheap DVD player.
