800x480 ..... otherwise pretty decent.

For a few quid more you could get this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Android-Tablet-Dual-Core-Capacitive-Multi-Touch/dp/B00BERI3X4/ref=sr_1_27?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1364220333&sr=1-27

Which is much the same. Half the onboard storage but better screen.

Or this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ployer-Momo7-IPS-Tablet-Pre-Installed/dp/B009AYP60G/ref=sr_1_33?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1364220333&sr=1-33

Virtually the same spec but better screen again. The Ployer Momo tablets also have the bonus of being pretty well supported through the user community so usually plenty custom ROM's and whatnot around for them.

I'd second sancheez - if you can possibly afford it, go for one with a better screen resolution. I have an Momo 9 which is 480x800 and the touch resolution is such that you spend more time re-typing stuff than doing anything else. Just bought a Nexus 7 which is ace, but then over twice as much - the Momo 7 looks like a good middle ground.

What is the chance of this, or the other two linked above, getting Android v4.2?
#6
Any comments on the battery life from people who have this tablet? Roughly how many hrs/mins? Thanks.

That's not the real thing, it's a completely different product.

Apple didn't make the real thing. How many times do you fan boys need to be addressed? They improved it. Admittedly the real thing was very unreliable.

I've bought this 9" one for same price, very impressed, read the reviews, bargain.

Alternative similar spec from Misco, for £50, so long as you don't mind open box.

http://www.misco.co.uk/product/OBSP586580/COBY-7-ICS-TABLET-OPEN-BOX-BOX-SLIGHTLY-SHABBY-PRODUCT-PRISTINE-CLEARANCE

Or the same as the OP's (but with only a single core) for below for £54

http://www.misco.co.uk/product/OB188876/Sumvision-Cyclone-Astroplus-7-Tablet-OPEN-BOX-BOX-SLIGHTLY-SHABBY-PRODUCT-PRISTINE-CLEARANCE

I have the op's tablet and it's very decent, screen isn't brilliant but I use it mainly for uploading stuff to my tv, and for that it's ideal.

Edited By: Saintledger on Mar 25, 2013 18:31: single core

Single core with 4gb built in so the specs not really comparable, but for fifty quid it may be worth a punt!

why are the hot and cold buttons at the top faded out, this isnt expired as yet, plenty in stock and at the posted price? Has someone expired this just to be a pain? :-(

No it's not expired, the hot and cold buttons fade out when you've voted.

Either you have already voted or, more unlikely, you are not logged in.

Not as hot as when I bought two for the kids Misco were selling them for £55 each inc delivery but it's still a fair price for an excellent tablet. You can use Sausagemod to root these and put CM9 on them which makes things more interesting

I'd completely decided on this one for my soon to be 8 year old birthday, but now you've all posted links to others for me to consider.

I need to remind myself it is for an 8 year old and only has to cope with playing Angry Birds or a colour by numbers app.

More than good enough. You used to get really laggy single core tablets for this price. This has a decent chipset. The screen resolution and screen are hmm ok I guess, but this is for an 8 year old. Easily will do the job.

Bought one for my daughter she loves it. Only issues I have found iplayer is jumpy and cant figure out why. Putting firmware on is more hassle than I expected, lots of crap about downloading drivers and cables and uh.. cant be arsed. Perfect for kids.

Outperforms my ainol elf 2.

I still dont know what the benefits are, last time i heard Android wasnt optimized for multiple core cpus....so why we have all these dual and quad core ones is a bit beyond me!
#27
Struggling to find a case / screen protector, can I get a generic one for this?
#28
I purchased this earlier. Tablet is not responsive and hangs frequently. May be my unit is faulty. I purchased 2year square trade warranty on top.

Nope, it's new gen QUAD CORE. Read the listing and google the CPU: Actions ATM7029

At £108.99 for a tablet of this spec, this is a very hard deal to beat.

I get 1-2 days use using it for a few hours a day. It takes 3-4 hours to charge though.

Most likely due to Flash Player being rubbish.

errm, ive heard it from a number of sources, granted a lot of |Android competitors and since the announcement of the 8 core S4 even more now... I have a dual core 1.6 tablet and my G/F's single core 1.9 runs smoother and faster at times, maybe just down to the devices we're using...

Ill check my details again but on searching for the same tab away from Ebay its coming back at a dual core with quad gfx, a lot of sellers are using this technique on Ebay to mislead people, problem is after your've bought if you want to return the item they insist you send it back to China at your cost so your pretty much knackered...

Can anyone tell me if tablet purchases from Amazon are subject to the 7 day returns policy with Amazon please?

No, 3 months ago the government rushed through some extra legislation which mean tablets sold through Amazon are exempt from the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

Or maybe they didn't? Why not check on Amazon yourself rather than relying on random answers ;)

Because I thought that someone on here might already have the answer?

I could equally ask why the heck you use this site when you easily go out and find all the deals yourself?
