It was going well, I thought "This guy know's his stuff"

Then you put "Mmmmm", you lost me!, just like the morons who can't help themselves but put "nom nom nom" after anything food related. I can't take this seriously, I'll wait for someone else to comment if it's nice, or not.

I've already bought a bottle if this. Its really worth buying.

This is a fantastic rum for the price. Very smooth and has been aged in bourbon oak casks. I find it's quite hard to come by, so at £20 it is well worth it.

If money is no object, try and find at least a 12 year old bottle. You'd be surprised at the difference.

Point taken! (At least I didn't say Slurp Slurp, then I would be a moron)

How incredibly and unnecessarily rude.

Actually you wouldn't. Unlike, for example, Scotch, the age statement on rums refers to the oldest spirit rather than the youngest in bottle. The content of aged spirit is essentially unregulated.

I'm not saying that age is not an important factor but as with any spirit matured in wood in a hot climate maturation will be hugely influenced by racking position in warehouse. Of all the factors in the final product in the bottle (for example the base spirit quality and starch source used, quality of wood, caramel and sugar added and most importantly the blend recipe) the age on the label isn't too good as a guide to the age of the product, and certainly no guide to quality.

Some of the very best rums I've ever tasted carry no age statement.

All that said the El Dorado 15yo is excellent.
