Original post
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/332827/72-felix-pouches-for-12-at-asda/

Also now available online

It seems to be all the fish variety

Separately the pouches are 29p each, so would cost over £20 for 72

Good price over RRP I guess, however I feel not very good value overall.....average cat 3 to 4 pouches a day would mean 18-24 days worth of meals, considering the higher quality foods such as James Well Beloved and Royal Canin 2KG lasts upto 28 days, contains better quality ingredients and is hypo allergenic and is only £3 more than this (two for one offer recently at Pets At Home).

Voted hot for price, not for content.

My cat has 2 pouches a day. 100g each.
This I mix with some iams, at least he gets some juice from the Felix as he drinks very little and that puts me off giving dry food only

Yeah, we have trouble with ours taking to dry food only, we supplement with HiLife wet food pouches, however ours drinks ok. Plenty of water content in wet food, especially Felix!

Oh bother! I just bought two lots at £12! Good job the date is okay until 2010 on these! Heat added.

You were lucky! Probably the scanner read a barcode for 1 box instead of the whole lot.

I have decided that tinned cat food stinks and was going to look at alternatives - can someone recommend something that isn't too pricey (on a budget!) that is better than the tinned stuff?

My cat's reluctant now to jump on to the sofa (doesnt seem to like using her back legs to jump up) so thought maybe I should take better care of her (although she is 15 years old so getting on a bit)

I suppose you don't know or care about animal welfare?

No sign of this offer in my local Asda, Glasgow Govan, even asked a staff member and she knew nothing about it.

The only felix offer on show was 2 x £4.01 12 packs for £7

A nicer, more polite way of putting your point might have been: "can i show you this link, it may change your mind about iams". How can you suggest that the poster doesn't care about animal welfare when he might well not be aware of what's on that link? I certainly wasn't, and i DO care about animal welfare.

Oh my cats will be happy

Why is such a good site plagued by idiots.
You have no idea of what this person may or may not know. I stopped feeding Iams after it was brought politely to my attention. I have always cared about animals.
It is just like saying anyone who buys Nestle, Branston etc... are baby killers. Just because some know about Nestle's dodgy practices it doesn't mean everyone does.

I must say that I am genuinely Shocked / Disgusted by what I have read on that website, at first found it hard to accept and thought it was someone just trying to tarnish the Iams brand name.
However reading further it all seems legit, even though Iams seem to have cleaned their act up its still not good enough for me.

So Guys / Girls what are the alternatives to Iams that everyone buys, the ones that are guaranteed to test humanly.

I only went and bought 4 x 1Kg bags from Pets at home yesterday, just found the receipt back they go!!!!!!
#17
I can recommend Royal Canin. It isn't cheap, but it has a lot of good effects like anti furball, and things to help digestion.
#18
I did not even know this about iams, so no more of that then, pity just bought a massive amount from Petsathome on deal to 24 or 48 for £10.

Opened so can't take it back, another alternative is Science Plan naturals I got a box of this also, but not seen any deals for this.

Y not have a thread where all this information of links of companies like this, but not a complaints board an actual with link to the above website or others, to make people who did not know this like me.

I also care about the welfare of animals.

Good deal will have a look in the 24 hours Asda on the way home, anyone some iams??? lol.

£12 was a bargain, now £9 is a super deal. This is 12.5p per sachet.
They were still showing as £12 in my ASDA last Thursday though so must check this.

I second Royal Canin, or James Wellbeloved..however these are dry foods, as far as wet food pouches go, if you are at all concerned look at the ingrediants on the packet, a lot of wet food is only 4% meat and other derivitives, go for a higher meat content. HiLife pouches we find good as they are 60% meat (no added rubbish), however they dont have any of the other vitamins, so good for meat, but worth supplementing with dry food like Royal Canin or James Wellbeloved (thats what we do)

Also, Tesco do there own Premium wet food pouches that are 50% meat or fish variety, and they also add essential vitamins, these are far better quality than Felix or Whiskas 4% meat content.
