I thought i would make a deal with more then one item, which lets you use postage to get a few things cheaper, basically a filler item, so if you buy the maxtor 750gb hard drive which costs £50.37 delivered which is a good price by itself, adding a 2gb usb stick only costs £1.16. which i think is a fairly good price to be honest.

link for hard drive is on the right hand side
but as i cant add more then one link you will have to find the other items manually so copy and paste these product codes -

#30818 - USB STICK
#27693 - Mini-Fan Summer Cooler
#10155 - AAA alkaline battery

into the Live search (search box) then find the following information:

Get this product for
£X.XX exc. VAT
through our very limited SuperSpecials offer!

click on the "very limited SuperSpecials offer" and theres you "superspecial" priced item

Edit: have added batteries and fan to title & price which has only increased total by 21p, so if you dont want the fan and 1p batteries it will cost you £51.53 for the hard drive + usb stick, if you look at the bottom have also added keyboard and mouse which will only cost you £3 for both with hard drive, so just mix and match what you want, Also if you think about it you can get 1.5 terabyte's worth for £100 by buying 2 of these drives.

Not bad but it's an old drive I'd rather get a samsung f1 or Wd 640 aaks.
Nice deal though but could probably fine the drive alove for £40-£45.

I needed a backup drive. This will be perfect. As mentioned if you want to use this as a system drive, take a look at the 1TB samsung F1 which can be bought for £75-80 delivered.

edit: in fact the 1TB f1 is available for £70 from aria

This has been on 'Superspecial' now for months at what point does this just becomes it's normal price?

Anyway I bought one a few months ago and it's a noisy thing, the noise it makes when seeking is just excessive I thought there was something wrong with it til I googled it.
The drive runs damn hot too but If you can tolerate that then I suppose it's a bargain but I'm now determined to get rid of mine.

seems good to me

Bought the same drive from Scan three months back. Not used it in extreme anger yet but from initial testing and copying of data to it, I found it certainly not excessive on noise and no worse than putting my original drive in performance mode in the BIOS from acoustic quiet mode.

Certainly a fast drive and by all accounts very reliable. Personally I steered clear of the Samsung F1s after I read a load of bad reviews on reliability, otherwise on paper they seemed good.

Hot in my book.

Seems a pretty good deal as they are selling the same one on eBuyer for £59.99 on sale just for the drive.

Think you will find the eBuyer one is the retail kit like I bought, so has cables, etc, not just a bare drive, I think that's what the "-RK" is on the product code. Aria drive may be the OEM or bare drive!

Odd however the Aria drive says is only got an 8MB cache but the ST3750640AS I got has a 16MB cache. Aria I think must have this wrong as they have also quoted the part number wrong as well saying its a 840AS not a 640AS.

#15
Needed more storage space so just bagged a drive and other stuff too ! Cheers OP !

The 8 in 840AS means 8MB cache.
The 6 in 640AS means 16MB cache.
The 3 in 340NS means 32MB cache.
