Seagate is better in quality than those.

How do you judge that? I prefer Maxtor drives from experience but as they are now the same company ( http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20051221-5816.html ) and there is no way of telling what drive brand is being used in the Lacie I think it's all of little importance! If you're unlucky it will fail soon, if you're lucky then it will fail in a couple of years! 500GB are the best value at the moment IMHO

Anyone seen a particularly good deal on a NAS drive ?, not the mybook version as it doesnt allow the sharing of AVI files which is what the drive will be mainly used for !!
