If I was you go for it. I think this is about as low as the GTX 460 will get for some time and have a read in this thread, an overclocked 460 can nearly match a stock 470 and the general consensus is that 470 doesn't warrant the price difference

Yes, but you forget that this is a GTX 460 768mb, whereas its the 1GB which you really want.

And this deal isn't that amazing, you can get the inconceviably better GTX460 1GB for £140.99 with that game.... I'll post the link.

Not really only for higher resolutions is the 1gb better for people like me who don't it makes no difference, anything other then that and you wont notice the difference as has been covered on many review sites. Even when its better its by an average of 5 frames extra on most games I wouldn't exactly call that inconceivably better so for me I wouldn't pay an extra £30 especially since I don't game in very high resolutions. Also its still another £30 on top which some people cant afford so this would be perfect.
If you have a screen resolution of 1080p or more then from what I know the 1gb is suggested.

and also that card gets a lot of bad reviews on Google shopper. People are complaining about the poor build quality, noise and heat issues. Take a look.

To te people posting the deal for 140 quid; it's nearly 30 quid more than this deal. If it were a tenner more then it would be a no-brainer, but you're paying over 25% more to get 15% more performance.

I still think we'll see one of these for less than a ton this year.

GTX 460 video card requires a 450 Watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 24 Amps on the +12 volt rail. It also requires that the power supply has two 6-pin PCI Express power connectors for proper connection. It should be noted that the NVIDIA minimum system power requirement is based on a PC configured with an Intel Core i7 3.2GHz CPU. If you want to run SLI we have been told that a 600 Watt or greater power supply is suggested by NVIDIA. NVIDIA refuses to give +12V requirements for SLI, which is strange since they suggest them for single card solutions. ASUS is the only company making a GeForce GTX 460 that has the power connectors coming off the top of the video card rather than the butt end of the card. This is great for those with small computer cases.
#17
At this price, it seems like a great idea to SLI with. Or for a dedicated PHYS-X/3D Card
#18
Nice to have HDMI, although it'll be out of date in about a week when they release hdmi v4b or v5 etc etc etc

At 1920x1080 you might gain 1-2 fps by using the 1gb, I don't see how that is "inconceivably better". At less than 1920x1080 it makes no difference at all.

Personally I think it is "inconceivably better" to save £30.

Not if you don't tell them you overclocked it, duh.

This card comes with a molex to PCIE adaptor so if you only have one PCIE on your PSU that is fine. You need two spare molex.

Not voting here either way but I did want to point out Scan's customer service being ultra crap. One example is them showing items as being in stock but really not being in stock. Before someone here starts defending them.....and there's always one.....bear in mind you've probably not had to deal with a situation where you get no where no matter how you try......so unless you've had a bad experience with them you're bound to defend them, try not to bother tho, we know you exist.

would buy this but not from scan after the 4870 fiassco

Its now back to £119.99 still cheapish

This is better than the HD5770.

Great deal! I really had my heart set on this card until scan had their 49 quid radeon 4870 deal which I luckily received :D!! Oh well, I got a slightly worse performance and hotter running card but I saved 65 quid in the end :D!!
#28
Make sure it fits in to your case ( just a polite reminder as I made the mistake once)

As these cards as big as your shoe, well my GTX275 is had to change the Whole case for it.

I was one of those that go shafted on the HD4870 Scan fiasco! The worst bit was their attitude of not accepting (or caring) that they were at fault for taking my money when they had sold out. Their email was like "we see your order has been cancelled...", like they had nothing to do with it! Serenity now!

It isn't big, it fits in my CM 335 Elite with loads of room to spare and that is a small/average size case.
