pretty poor i'd have thought. Hot for price though

The earphones you plug into it are much, much more important than the quality that comes out of the speaker itself in terms of quality. I'm sure this won't compare to a high-quality mp3 player, but if you have the money to invest in super expensive earphones then you're probably not going to want this kind of mp3 player anyway.

Makes a great stocking filler for the kids, I thought, Enjoy

The bit rate of the file will be just as important

What a bunch of audiophiles we have here judging by these comments, I must remember to ask you all for advice in future, as what you know you could jot on the back of a postage stamp!
#8
i had one from Hong Kong ...fell to bits in a couple of weeks..
#9
Bought one of these from ebay a while back, worked for a few weeks then my pc couldn't recognise it when plugged in by usb, so no way to charge it or add music!

got my kids them last year and they still work fine, just get better earfones :)

not a bad price at all so voted hot.

However, if you have the extra ~£10 then you might as well get a sansa clip as it will be superior in everyway, reliability/sound quality but of course it depends on what you want to spend.

Agreed. I have had a few cheap MP3 players that died.

i bought one from toys r us a few months back - it sits out in the garage (my gym) and works perfectly. i ahve it hooked into my speakers As for reproduction the sound IS inferior but only very slightly, it's perfect as a back up for excercise mp3 player....i do agree with the other post about the Sansa....sound is better but maybe not to everyone, especially if you using cheap earphones it would be difficult to tell

Hot from me anyway all things considered
#14
are these apple mp3s?

if not it still does the same job so who cares

We've got a live one here, folks

These are from 7dayshop, not direct from Hong Kong or eBay. If it doesnt work/falls apart send it back, you'll have 12 months warranty. Hot unless someone that actually has the exact one from 7dayshop says it's terrible, rather than speculation.
#18
At least you can expect to get this item rather than buying it from hong kong on ebay and not getting it or worrying it won't work. Good price for 4 gigs.
#19
Perfect as a stocking filler for the little uns so hot from me.

without checking I think £20 gets you a 1GB sansa. I'm a big fan of Sansa (I have two :) ) I think you'd need to spend aprox £40 to get 4-8gb (recent great deal on 4gb+card) on a sansa.

Sansa clip ftw

There are many fake iPods, most of the time they look similar to the real ones, but at least there is an effort to change something a little bit. This is just a carbon copy to 2nd gen iPod Shuffle. According to www.consumerdirect.gov.uk it is unlawful to make or sell imitations or copy of goods without the permission of the trade mark owner.

Not buying this will discourage companies from bringing and selling this in the UK.

This isn't a counterfeit or fake product, as nowhere is it advertised as being a genuine iPod Shuffle.
This is simply a copycat product.
No doubt it infringes upon many of Apple's dubious US patents, but I have trouble feeling sympathetic toward Apple in this regard as they're one of the biggest patent trolls around.

If their goods weren't overpriced to such a degree I suspect they wouldn't need to worry about copycat products such as this.

Nice find. There are other colours available if you search.

Its a little below average quality , on a similar level to Apples Ipod Touch (the last gen not the latest one )
#27
paid $4.20 for the exact same thing at dx, though it requires a flash card, sound is fine and laughably almost as good as my iphone....but its BETTER than the iphone for connectivity which is a joke...dont like this, dont like that, stop half way through sounds when connected to an iphone alpine car stereo....all known probs...iphone and ipod and just expensive doorstops, not fit for purpose

makes me laugh...in the old days of analogue you could easily tell the difference between good and bad...usually the good were expensive and the bad were cheap....and always a few exceptions...i know i had a fairly expensive setup on the 80=90's.....spent near £5K on a seperates system in 1986, alot but then these things then were expensive and by all accounts it was a cheap seperates system....but all last 22 years without fail and i sold it on ebay when i upgraded (i doubt stuff made nowadays will last as long)

with digital there is barely any notiecable difference....people do demos of 320kbps and 128kbps saying there is a big difference....well there is barely if any difference through speakers, not tried headphones so maybe there is through that source.....human hearing spectrum is quite narrow so improvement/differences these days are limited

Looks like the standard ipod copycats that ebayers buy in bulk from China, well I guess that's all it is! Still they're generally good enough quality!

Here here... i think apple hav become too big and too cocky for their own good. I went to buy a cable for their laptop and ended up paying £21 for a 10cm cable all because they use differennt cable to the rest of the world. I have decided to avoid all apple products because they are a rip off.

Apple you are too expensive and that is why i endorse other people copying your products and making them more accessable to the real people. so stick that in your pipe and smoke it steve jobs!!!!!
