Cracking zoo, well worth a visit.

Also made me remember that South Lakes Wild Animal Park is FREE entry for Adults and Children until 13th Feb http://www.wildanimalpark.co.uk

Is the panda on show yet?

This includes the first week of the spring break so that's quite good.

That's a real kick in the crotch, I took a friend last week and paid £15.50 each yet it will be warmer this week than last... :(

Heat for it though, really good saving and if it does cover a bit of the spring break, all the better for it. Word of warning though, don't expect many penguins out for the parade if it's cold. Ironically, they aren't fond of walking when it's a bit chilly. :D

Anyone know what age they constitute as adult?

Hope its not 12 :p

Were all the animals still out even in the cold weather? Wouldn't want a wasted trip if half them weren't out to see.

The vast majority were but there were a few that were still in hibernation. Nothing dealbreaking though. ;)

Great, thanks, looks like a trip up might be in order, wonder if I can find a cheap nights stay up there save driving there and back in a day, not that its that far.

In the winter Edinburgh Zoo is awful. There are very little animals. Most are sleeping.
It was only £5 in January for an Adult, so for me this is cold.

Nonsense. Absolute nonsense. It's a fantastic zoo and more importantly it's a conservation zoo not just to entertain tools like you. Get a clue.

Good for you Python5; guess you dont have kids to entertain for mid term and in service days next week.I've got 4 days to entertain them. A blast of cold air, an enormous hill and some animals- just what they need to tire them out!

We went to Edinburgh Zoo in feb a few years back (free for us as Edinburgh is one of the zoos that offers free entry to annual members of Bristol Zoo!) - it was cold and as we got to the highest point of the hill it started snowing! I'd endorse the comment about the penguins - they were just standing huddled looking miserable! The (heated) monkey hosue, however was very popular. Anyway, we did enjoy the day there and it looks like a good offer.

You can get the safari bus up to the top of the hill. Its open to the elements so can be a bit chilly, but takes the effort out of a zoo trip.

seems the name has changed to " SPRING SPECIAL PROMOTION "
