Was in Tesco Express & they had 7UP 2 Litre Bottles at half marked price making them £0.79 each but they also were on a shelf stating BOGOF so they served me and all the other people taking advantage of this error

Hardly a hot deal.
The simple employee who decided to serve and oblige the error will get a kick in the hole from the manager

This was also in a Tesco Express which don't always share the same promotions.

Store specific misprice - I just bought some of these and it was 79p per bottle. Still a good deal at that price, but not the BOGOF deal posted here

Wrong. It is illegal for stores to display offers and not honour them, error or otherwise. The manager will simply honour it for those that spotted it and correct the error. It's not a big deal.

It's not actually illegal for them not to sell at the displayed price. Any shop can decide not to sell to a customer, and not to sell at a particular price. The displayed price is simply an "invitation to treat", by which the shopper is offering to buy at that price. The shop can refuse to sell at that price.
However, mis-pricing is an offence that can be dealt with by trading standards and can attract a fine through the courts.
On the other hand, Tesco have a stated "doubnle the difference" policy, which is binding on them as part of the contract of sale, therefore they would have to refund double if they charged the "full" price.
