I guess they won't be around for too long but there is availability as I write this.

The network is basically from London Kings Cross to the north (incl Leeds, York, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen & Invernes) with plenty of intermediate pick ups too.

Does this include London to Manchester would you know? and do you have to go thru a special link or just go to journey selection? thanks in advance
#2
No, closest to Manchester would be Wakefield, Leeds or Bradford. If the fare is available on the chosen date/route then it will show from the link posted.

Hey, come on, a return to Glasgow for £16, surely that's a good deal...

I put in london kings cross to glasgow and its telling me 49£ is the cheapest for 9th Jan, am I doing something wrong

these train sites have a knack for being very hard to navigate in my experience!

edit: perseverance paid off, got it to work, thanks hot!

I just searched 30th Dec to the 2nd of Jan to London from Doncaster and it was only £54 for 2 people I think that is a great deal around that time.

Great deal !! I saw a few £8 single, but couldnt find anymore so I dunno if it's all going fast. Dates are no good for me though, but hot if you can get it.

Just booked London - York from 28 - 30 January for £16 return. Good for a weekend away!
#9
Brilliant, thank you.
#10
Had a quick look at London to York and there's good availability for a Friday to Sunday weekend throughout January despite East Coast saying that Fridays and Sundays are the busiest times.

And the same for York to London weekends too so I guess that this is one offer that actually isn't just a bait and switch but the real deal.

Praise be.

That's what I found too. They did a similar thing a year or two ago, when they were still National Express (or maybe even GNER), with single fares a fiver. I found plenty of availability then too for London - Edinburgh at weekends, despite them saying otherwise!

It is a good deal. I spend a fortune on train fares in general (work-related, mostly - and I rarely plan ahead far enough to get the best deals), so it's nice to get a bargain for a change!

Not sure of the link on this thread but if you type http://www.eastcoast.co.uk/8 it takes you to the right bit. There seems to be plenty of availability (just bagged 2 tickets from Edinburgh to London and back for £32).
