Locking bars and side handles on the top chest
Four large casters for easy mobility around the workshop

The original mechanics tool chest - built with super smooth ball bearing sliders. Beware of the cheap red imitators!

This big capacity 8 drawer tool chest and roller cabinet also has a large up and over door for quick access to your tools. The sturdy powder coated steel frame and rugged build quality will provide the durability for years of service in your workshop or garage.

Super smooth ball bearing sliders means the drawers are effortless and glide open with a reassuringly sturdy “click” when fully extended. There is a security lock and two lock bars to help keep your belongings safe.

The four hooks are included and can be fitted to the side of the cabinet to hang larger tools from, enabling quick and easy access.

75mm castors means easy manoeuvring around the garage or workshop.

The spacious drawers include a liner to protect and prevent your tools from slipping.

Does not include tools.

Shipped with the top chest packed inside the bottom cabinet. The only assembly required is to remove the top chest from the cabinet and attach the wheels.

I bloody love these things. Not sure why. Have some heat.
I wouldn't say fit for a mechanic, but ok for light tools. I have one, but the draws are difficult to slide out when full of tools.
Bought this very recently when the Halfords deals were on..I looked around to see what could compare..and although I agree with damo1972 comments, I am pleased with this handy piece of kit...heat to op.
never heard of sgs... some good stuff on there website.. thanks
The max load per drawer is 8kg. is this enough, I notice the Halfords ones are 20kg?
Never heard of SGS either , is it made here or China ? Sounds like it a cheap "kerb side mechanic" box to me ? Not saying it's no good just that it doesn't seem to be of the pro variety i.e. no bearings in the drawer mechanisms. Although it does say it has ?

Ideal sideboard for my lounge
I bought a similar one from Halfords, they are good for the novice mechanic/bike tools but any serious weight on the drawers does cause it to be awkward in pulling it out.
Is the general opion of this that it is not the quality that it claims to be?

Reading the reviews and taking price into consideration it's great value for money. If you are running a pro garage then this is not for you. If you are a hobbyist who needs to have a central place for tools and bits then it's perfect. Depends on your needs.

I think if you are in need of one of these and/or starting a tool collection then this will do you well. If you see a need in the future for a bigger and better one this will probably still do for now as main and then as a 2nd storage for lighter and not used as much tools when ready to spend £500.

I'm very tempted. Voted hot.

Update: I've gone for it, thanks OP. Says delivery tomorrow. Once assembled I will report back.

used SGS for buying a 3 Ton car jack and found it to be good quality and decent customer service. Would be interested to hear from anyone who has bought what they think of them.
this or the ebay one, both would probally serve me ok as a diyer
now im spoilt for choice lol

I got mine - super quick delivery in about 18 hours from order. Very impressed

But there are problems which I've emailed them about and I am awaiting response:

[*]Basically it looks like it has been dropped at some point and on signing for delivery I didn’t notice the slight damage to box. There is quite a bend in the back panel that I may or may not be able to push out - although it will never be straight. But it is at a place that will nearly always be up against a wall so not a massive issue, just annoying

[*]All but one of the drawers run very nice but mine looked scuffed in places. When I emailed them about the one drawer it wouldn't open and close properly. Since then I found the bit of bit of metal that was stopping it and fixed the drawer.

These are dents or scuffs that I imagine would appear over time but I would have preferred to be the one making them. I put in the email to them the faulty drawer was the game changer and asked about exchange but since I’ve fixed that I will probably keep the one I have but I am awaiting response before telling them that in case they knock a couple of quid off (ya never know).

If you get a non-dropped one then they are well worth the money. If all they have in stock in damaged / returns then it’s a bit misleading. Right now I’m going on the assumption I was just unlucky.
