Not the best I agree, I've had a bit of a carry on with them tonight. Got the voucher code which may save someone some money though.

#9

of course you could just take hand luggage, and spend a few minutes applying for a pre-paid master card and only pay £16 both ways.

There aren't plenty of charges with these offers though. They include taxes, charges and online booking fees.

The only charges you have (assuming you are not disabled or an infant) are

1. Card charges (avoidable by using a Prepaid Mastercard e.g. http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/575145/beat-ryanair-cc-charges-free-fairfx. 1.5% charge for using this particular card but on £8 that's 24p for a return. Reloads can be done online and appear within a few hours)

2. Luggage charges (avoidable if you just take hand luggage - which I do every time. 10kg in 55cm x 40cm x 20cm case allowed).

3. Insurance (most sane people would take out their own insurance separately).

True - if you get a normal RyanAir flight there are unavoidable charges but on these special offers the headline prices are easily achievable.

You cant avoid the £5 charge as far as Im aware, hence you'll never be able to get an £8 flight.

Amazing.

An £8 flight is achievable. Why not try it instead of guessing?
#17
Play their game and you can get their price.Just look at Flybe and you will see they have brought down their prices to try and compete. Even BA are reducing luggage allowances. Its all in the game.

If you read the other comments, you would be aware.

free online check in but you have to book only the offer £8 flights any other flights lower or higher dont have free check in.Bit missleading by RA as there are loads of £8.99 fares quite a few £8 flights if you can be fexible with your date,s though

This happens every time a Ryanair deal is posted.
Don't bother trying to correct them or showing that you can get a ticket for x amount all inclusive.
That just adds more competition for those people who can actually read and have brains who have been getting these cheap 1p/£5/£8 flights for years!

Unless the OP has been changed since you wrote the above the OP says "doesn't include OPTIONAL fees/charges". The online checkin is not optional as it is included. Online checkin is never optional anyway. It is compulsory on any non-special offer flights.

Ah ok that makes more sense. I didnt read it that way as you'd think online check in would be optional. :?

Anyway had a look and its not all flights included between those dates, even though the offer page seems to suggest it that way. Its selective of which ones are included in this deal. Voted warm either way.

lol fine by me.

Checking in online has been compulsory since October last year I believe (with RyanAir)

And 'no'... it's not every flight. RyanAir never does that. I've seen the odd company do it but it's very rare that every seat is a fixed price be it rail or air.

They still let you check in at the airport if you want to but charge you £40 (i think) if you want to do it at the airport.

Are you sure about that? The RyanAir website states :

Can I check-in at the airport?

Airport check-in will not be available to any passenger travelling after the 25th October 2009.

I think if you need the boarding card printing you pay £40 though. Most people with access to the internet have access to printers to these days though.
#27
Cold on the basis that I was looking a flight from Dublin to Bratislava which was advertised as 14.99 Euro each way in the sale. However when I looked through all the dates between now and the end of the travel period there is not one in or outbound flight available at that price.

It's all fine and well advertising cheap flights if you don't actually have any.

Ah yes you are right, i guess this is if you forgot or lost your boarding pass.
#29
Ryanair push the market to the limit. But I'm not going to complain about 'hidden' fees since all you who pay them allow me to travel so cheaply.
#30
There are flights for the stated price for all you pessimisstics out there !!! stop whininging about Ryan Air, if you dont like the price then dont book it!!

I personnally will be flying to dublin on the 23rd April for £5 each way with no other charges!!!!

For proof of the £8 fairs try the below

Going Out From Newcastle - Dublin
Fri, 7 May 10

Returning Sunday 9th

£16 return !!!
#31
The way I look at it is...if you really want to go to one of their destinations (which I do) and even after the (most probably) unavoidable charges RA still offer the best value to get to your destination. So what if it costs £30 return for a checked case...its worth it especially when you've got a wife who wants to carry half of her toiletries and cosmetics.
I've got 2 x flights from Liverpool to Bergerac in the Dordogne with one checked case and it was about £50 each with all the "extras".
Damn sure I couldn't drive nor get the train there for that price!
Just hope the weather behaves itself now for the first week of May.:pirate:
