    Thanks OP. Ordered
Rare to find individually switched and surge protected at a decent price.

Sockets are in two rows; close to each other . There will be not enough space to plug big blocks.

Good buy. I so prefer individual switched outlets and with surge protected input, all that one needs for safety and economy

ordered this a week ago, it's good, but with some adaptors, it's a bit tricky. as you end up having cables pointing towards the inside.

Heat. Good price, just frustrating can't get a surge lead with enough space for bigger plugs though. Right, i'm off to invent one right now... ;)

Any one row leads for cheap?

Surge protection is a joke only bought by the people who think a £50 HDMI cable is going to give them a better quality picture. It won't protect against a lightning strike (13,000 volts vs this kit = fail) and damage caused by spikes in the mains electricity virtually never happen in the UK.

Having said that, I quite like the extension lead with the individual switches but please, ignore the surge protection rubbish.

Anyone know if you can mount this on a wall, i.e. does it have the holes/slots on the back to slide on to screws?

Avoid it !!! bought one of these from Argos a while ago and all the comments about "tight spaces for big plugs" holds true. . . plus the build quality is poor and the switches are stiff bordering on feeble according to the amount of use they get. Kevan, (retired electrician).

    Thanks for posting OP, ordered.

I currently have a cheap Argos 8 Way Plug Socket Extension Lead that has my TV, XBOX 360, Hauppauge HD PVR and Laptop all plugged into it. My Laptop was cheap because of poor Battery life and almost every time I plug it in to charge the Battery when my TV and XBOX 360 are turned On, there is a strange electrical surge or noise of a fuse inside the Socket under stress and occasionally my TV will turn itself Off.

This Surge Protected 8 Way Plug Extension Lead with individual switches is absolutely ideal and well worth £9.40 to help protect over £700 worth of electronic equipment.

Strange how I have has two cordless phone base stations fried by spikes in the mains during storms then.

I need a single plug surge-protected adaptor (e.g. http://www.maplin.co.uk/single-surge-socket-223082) and a 3-way surge-protected adaptor (e.g. http://www.maplin.co.uk/3-way-surge-adaptor-31304). The single is for the front 3 speakers, control console, and sub woofer on my Logitech z-5450 speakers (http://www.trustedreviews.com/Logitech-Z-5450-Wireless-Speakers_Peripheral_review) and the 3-way for the 2 rear speakers (plus sometimes a 3rd device like a phone charger or desk fan).

These speakers weren't cheap, so I don't want to buy a crap surge protector(s) that won't do the job if there's a surge. I know nothing about surge protectors, so would appreciate it if someone could recommend something that matches my requirements and is decent quality.

    Thanks.
