cheers ludichris ... there's just no helping some people on here - all you try and do is post good deals, and someone expires the post because the link doesn't work

I'm surprised that some people manage to dress themselves in a morning

Great deal

Why do people have to nit pick when people take the time to post a deal. Must be very bored or just very pedantic

Heat and rep added just to pee them off even more :p

Help appreciated.

yes, the hard drive needs to be formatted as FAT32

this should give you more info on media playback

You just stream them or just transfer them to the PS3 hard drive or play them straight of a usb stick or external hd via usb

Yes it does, but it's awfully expensive to buy one just for that. The 360 can do some formats with an additional download and you can buy nearly two for the price.

My 360 gets 10x more use than my PS3 and Wii combined.
The Home beta I tried for 20 minutes was completely underwhelming.

PS3's have failed. Not in the same numbers as early 360's though.

and as soon as you mention it one comes along

ragingpup was requesting information on whether the ps3 played movies via usb hdd, not whether you thought it was better or worse than an xbox, wii, megadrive, commodore 64 etc.

please can we keep this on topic rather than making into a fanboy war

i feel the same way my friend, same applies with expiring it because that person doesn't like it, if they dont like it, then dont look at it, simple isnt it.
#25
It will play SD divx, not .mkv files unless transcoded by TVersity which means having your PC on

exactly ... some times it makes you wonder whether it's worth posting deals, or just keep them for yourself, for fear of unfair criticism ... thanks for the support

Surely the package deal on the 80gb machine is a much better deal ?

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/285890/sony-playstation-3-ps3-console-with

Then if you dont want the games sell them
#30
So with this deal you get no games? if there are no games why not buy the one for £285 that comes with 3 games surely you would have to be crazy not to!

the other deal is here http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/285890/sony-playstation-3-ps3-console-with

just worked it out for an extra £25.99 on the other deal you get LittleBigPlanet + FIFA 09 + MotorStorm: Pacific Rift

This deal is to pay £245 after quidco - you say the other deal is to pay £285 - that's £40 difference

As already said on here the 80gb deal with 3 games is definately a better deal, even if you dont like the games sell/trade them and it works out a much better deal

actually to take quidco into account on BOTH deals the diffrence is £37.75 but whos counting pennys on a bargain site.

as long as you sell/trade the games fr more than £12.58 each you would be better off going for the bundle
#36
If the games on the bundle are not what you want then this deal is better. I certainly couldn't be bothered to order something I didn't want just to sell the games and save a couple of quid. Less hassle to just buy the console
