Went to gamestation liverpool and got the 80gb and uncharted for £209, already had uc2 as my 60gb has ylod after 2 years. Traded old uncharted 2 for 24 quid! so got it for £184

even less with trading in killzone 2

good deal for those who still love the old shape and dont like the digi box design of the new one.

Did you spot any pre-owned slims?

Awesome deal..

Got mine for £230 JUST for the console in Jan...

The older editions are the ones to get... especially since geohotz exploit makes use of OtherOS!!!

have fun downloading 30-60GB FILES and trying to take your ps3 to pieces to actually get it hacked and paying a fortune because sony patented the process to hack a ps3 so if a chip does come out they will have to pay sony first. In summary it isnt worth it...

I already download 30-60GB files - so that's no issue.. VM 50Mbit FTW!

Secondly it's a 95% software solution, it should easily transcend to a pure software solution with some work.

Since when have patents stopped hackers in the past.. I bet you 110% sony themselves will help push a ps3 modchip/hack to boost sales at a point in the future.

=)

so, in summary it is worth it!

well not everybody has 50mb broadband and i doubt many people will be willing to upload that much storage so it will be slow even if you found seeders.
I really doubt that there will be a pure software solution, they might find a modchip but i dont think it will be cheap at all.
Also why would sony support it? They make a LOSS on every console. They make there money from the games themselves. Plus games are less likely to get sequels if you pirate them. Game development is getting soo expensive now that many developers arent willing to take as many risks so its worth supporting the games you like particularly the smaller games.

LOL,

It's not all about pirating games.. I just want to use the machine as I please, especially to play Bluray content... such as .mkv's.

you clearly don't know enough about the web if you think no-one uploads 50GB... there's thousands of Bluray's out buddy, wake up!!

=)

Anyway, it's pointless to argue with you.. lets just say.. you carry on doing whatever it is that you do.. and I will do my own thing!

peace out.

This is nationwide. Stores would have had 5-10 in to last the next week or so. If you want one, dont dawdle overlong.

Well if you believe the rumours, the next firmware update is gonna remove 'Install other OS', if so that renders the exploit useless.

Hot deal BTW.

old tech, would be an ok deal if it was a slim, but even then nothing brilliant...
#14
Do these come with Dual Shock 3 or six axis?

I am looking at this to replace my faulty console. I currently have a 320GB HDD in mine filled with my music and videos, can I just swap the hard drive into a new console and not have to reformat?

Looks a great deal for me, I could sell the games and my faulty console (i've seen them go on ebay for £50 -£90) and have a new console for not too much!

typical HUKD comment not understanding the idea of the forum.

Nobody asked you for a review of the hardware.

Could you find me a cheaper deal please?

How do you work that out? It's current generation! Also, this does more then the Slim and according to a lot of people looks nicer (although larger).

Yes, brand spanking new. (so are the games).

Just picked one up from Almondvale, Livingston and the guy said they had a few more left if that helps anyone.
Great but for me as I wanted one for gaming and playing blueray discs and not too fussed about the slim version!
