Just wondering if anyone actually uses Encyclopedias on DVD any more?

I remember using things like Encarta over 10 years ago, but that was before things like Google and Wikipedia were around.

Granted the deal is really for TIME magazine, and that is a good deal, so heat added

Got subscriptions to National Geographic, Fortune and Times for around £1 per week.

I did this the last time it was on. Don't sign up to the Forbes trial... it's impossible to cancel. Have to write a letter to Holland.

Last time I got one of these freebie Encyclopaedia Britannica's, I sold it on Ebay to somebody in Poland. He said they were hard to get over there. This was about 3 years ago though.

"We'll continue your TIME subscription as long as you wish without interruption, unless you tell us to stop. At the end of your initial term, and before to start of each new annual term, we'll simply charge your credit card to lock in the low subscriber rate then in effect. If we cannot charge your card we will just send you a bill. You may cancel at any time and receive a full refund on all unmailed issues."

That's the bit that's putting me off subscribing.

I did this offer in July and didn't get the first issue until December 28th!

Got the last offer, and it's not the first time I'd subscribed to Time.

Very good if you are living in a non-English speaking country and are a news junkie but to be honest you can't beat a good book on the Council Gritter. I'm reading What Left? by Nic Cohn at the mo and it is soooo much more substantial and informing than Time despite being 5 years old, and let's face it magazines are alway dated by the time you get it let alone read it.

I subscribed the last time around and think this is real poor value for money.

Continue to get it but have stopped reading as you get a very polarised view of the world. Their take on Europe is very poor and atleast 50% of the magazine is irrelevant if you are a non American.

This is a long-term offer for 'Time'. I have taken it out on several occasions and it has always provided enjoyable reading material, and taken against the shop RRP. of £2.95 is a considerable bargain.

Cancelling involves no more than a email to an email address stated clearly on the subscription site, and can be done in advance of the subscription ending, therefore you can get all 81 issues without paying any additional fees. They even sent a letter in advance of the end of the subscription period, to remind me that it was due to be renewed, therefore reminding you of whether to continue or cancel.

On the few occasions, that a issue arrived damaged, an additional copy would be sent and an additional week added to the subscription period, in gratitude.
