this says on the special offer save £44 when you buy the trampoline and enclosure together that should make it £55.98 but it just makes the enclosure free so taking off £19.99

store pick up is £79.99
#8
i know it says £79.99 but as the offer states you save £44 if you buy them together can you not quote that when you go to pick up and they have to give you the discount as advertised it does state offer ends 26th july 2008
#9
this should be cheaper than 80 as the website states add both items and save 44 !!!!
#10
Great deal if they do take the £44 off! If anyone manages to get them to do it let us know.... cheers
#11
I think the 'save £44' means a saving on the ORIGINAL price, not the new price
#12
That would mean the original price of the enclosure was £44+£19.99=£63.99.The original price was £94.79.Theres a bit of a discrepency here?Off to argos when the Mrs can be bothered to get ready.
#13
Oh good :x Can see four of the sodding things from the back bedroom. Noise level in the garden has quadrupled on a summers day :x:x
#14
im going to give it a try instore, the trampoline states in small print that it isnt reduced, and the offer clearly staes saving of £44 off when brought together.
nothing to lose buy trying. had a result on the tom tom 720 at xmas laughing alll the way home
to be really sneaky you could by vouchers first £50 and use the £5 voucher off the purchase as the total amount payable includes cash purchase, so you would be intitled to another £5 voucher.

good luck
#15
Reserved for store pick up

Will try to get a reduction and also try the sneaky way thanks to katya1971 :)

The wife rang and said ours as blown across the garden into the house, so may need to replace one..
Doesn't look as good as the ebuyer ones, but not checked their currnet prices.
#17
thanks op, gonna reserve to pick up, hope the boxes will fit in my boot! managed to use some vouchers i had left over from last year so cost me £35.00 all in.

got mine and had to push for the 55.98, they tried to explain it is £44.00 off combined £129.99 , but i kept pushing and said i had to buy these 1 at a time and no where on the special offer did it say off a combined total, took all the print outs, starting with the 79.99 then special offer with enclosure showing 19.99, then onto the basket, ashamed to say was not brave enough to ask for the £5 voucher

Good for you! I definately think you should be able to get this for £55.98. And you should be able to get the £5 voucher as you have spent £50. I'm very tempted. Just not sure we have the room in our garden. But the kids would love it.
#21
Ok I have reserved them and am going to give it a go this afternoon! I will let you know how I get on.

Just argue that the reservation price is wrong! It clearly states 'to to receive this offer add both items to the trolley' That's what I am going to do. The maths don't add up. £79.99 + £19.99 - £44 = £55.98. I am taking print outs of the items and the offer to back me up. And I will ask for my £5 voucher too!

Good for you I will do the same when I go in
If they dont honour this deal look out.
You cant advetise this at a price and then charge another price or the law has been broken
Am I right ?

Hi - Can you let me know which store you managed to do this in? I just tried at the Talbot Green Store and they would not let me do it. Tried at one point to charge me £99.98 (79.99 for the trampoline and £19.99 for the enclosure). Eventually had it for £79.99 for both and they have given me the number for cutomer services to ring them to query it.

i got my in the totten branch near southampton, i reserved but went to till as stated here the price did not add up, i took the print out of the 79..99 item showing the special offer, enclosure 19.99 with £44 saving then i printed off the basked item showing the 19.99 gone but 79.99 remaining took all that in. as stated they are arguing that is the combined price £129.99 down to 79.99 and i am saving more then £44, so i should be grateful, i argued that the combined price is not showing and also it stated items has to go in 1 at a time. so not a combined price saving.

you want a combined offer yet you dont want the saving vs the previous combined offer?
but then if you want to remove consideration of combined offers they could just say you are saving 95 quid.
what you are saving here on single items is the discount for buying both as well as the discount applied to the single enclosure.
theres a difference between a hot deal and taking advantage of someone trying to give good customer service to almost con them.

Where are they getting the combined price of £129.99 from,as far as i can see the combined price is £79.99 & £19.99 = £99.98.

the 129.99 price is the old version of adding both items to basket it would have been advertised in the same way.
just quickly looked through summer catalogue and its advertising the combined pack as 129.99

Southend branch wouldnt let me have it at all, says it doesnt make sense, (the manager said she had phoned through and it was a internet only offer) complete \bs but then she said theres nothing she can do and to phone customers services. Got home thought i'd buy online and now the trampoline is out of stock - coincidence i dont know bu annoyed that i drove and queued down there and nothing. Wouldnt even buy the stupid vouchers that i had saying that as i have vouchers how the hell and i suppose to use them online......

Just had a check online, and when you reserve for home delivery both items the trampoline comes up as out of stock but the enclosure comes up as free (£0.00) so you could order the enclosure for home delivery & buy the trampoline instore?

Looks as though the offer is going to be on for a while, so may be try another store on another day giving yourself time to get over today

No joy for me:x Spent 45 minutes in store trying to sort it out. Had to speak to customer services while there and they were quite stroppy with me. They said it was up to the store manager whether they would offer me a gesture of good will which they wouldn't do. So I walked away very unhappy.

Anyone know the legality of these sort of internet offers?
#35
No problem at all.The manager kept telling me that it was down to his discretion .I think it helped with my angelic 5 year old saying "daddy can we really have a trampoline".I was charged £19.99 & then £35.99 for the trampoline.Oh! also recived £5 argos voucher.Looks a swine to set up though!

Which branch was this and did they phone custome services first? I'm thinking about reserving them at another branch and trying again as it seems to be at the managers discretion. (I was also told at 1.30pm that they were changing the internet offer which they haven't done)
#37
Just found this in their terms and conditions
4.2 The price you pay is the price displayed on this website at the time we receive your order apart from the following two exceptions:
a) For products reserved online for store pick up or any other reservation service the price you pay is the price in store on the day of collection.
b) While we try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.

So we don't really have a leg to stand on.
#38
Yes they told him not to honour it.So I really do not want to drop him in it.He was good to us.So I cannot divulge his branch.
#39
good for you; legally the company is totally in its right to charge what it wants and not honour any mistakes
