Yep, I ordered 2 from the last time they were posted on here. Work fine in mine and my sons PSP's. No noticeable difference in loading speeds for games compared with our previous Sandisk 4gb's (Both running 4.01 M33 Custom firmware)

If you download the M33 firmware then it has an auto-update feature, which means all you have to do is be in a wi-fi area and click 'network update' in under the settings menu

I downloaded an update from pspiso.com

You simply add it to your memory card, run it, and then delete it. Takes seconds.

cool, thought it was good too, myself, I use the 8GB sandisk microSD's in an adaptor for the Duo's so they work in the psp, but for a true ProDuo, it's a great price!

£1 lower is still an extra quid cheaper, something that might swing it for quite a few people.

Thanks for the heat guys

Just ordered 2 , great spot , cheers OP

Nice price. Sony MSPD's are quite a bit slower at reading than Sandisk, which if you are using it in a PSP can mean the difference between a smooth game and lag (especially when using CSO's).

At £20 though, put all the games that require slow access on it and you'll never know the difference.

Edit : just noticed that it's a Lexar card, not Sony. Lots of Lexar cards had problems with running .prx's. The cards themselves have fast read speeds but don't initialise fast enough. With Sony's modified FAT driver that has been in use for the past few FW revisions they work quite a lot better, but they still have issues occasionally.

Have I missed something here? Since when have Lexar become a manufacturer of these proprietary cards developed by Sony & Sandisk? I thought it was only Sony & Sandisk that sold the Memory Stick format?

Are these genuine licensed?

Yep, Lexar have been a MSPD/Magicgate licensee from sony for years now.

Are these usable in PSP FAT?

Yes, as long as your firmware is fairly recent, I can't remember the exact one.

Yes of course, the PSP Phat slot is designed to accept Pro Duo cards, and recent firmware whether it be Sonys proprietary or Dark Alex modified firmware accepts 8gb cards just fine.

I downloaded mine from www.pspmod.com

I don't think there's that much new since 3.91 but I try to keep our PSP's upto date anyway as it's less hassle updating a couple of firmware versions than making a massive jump if you haven't updated the PSP for a year or so.

Isn't MagicGate some kind of DRM for music?

I got a non-genuine one for a fiver a while back and it has the same read and write speeds as regular pro duo without magicgate support :)

Edit:

Yes, MagicGate is form of DRM for music downloaded from the Sony Connect service, and it's being phased out and replaced with Windows Media DRM. The absense of this feature from my non-genuine one does not bother me in the slightest.

Since when should DRM be allowed to become a "feature"?

Because fake MS Pro Duos don't support it and it's the easiest way to tell if it's genuine or not.
I wouldn't touch a non-genuine Pro Duo card now if you paid me. I had a 4GB card which was sold as 'genuine' on Ebay. It wouldn't even format in my PC. The thing literally fell apart it was so badly made. Some people have good experience with fake goods but there's no point in even chancing it these days when you can buy genuine for such good prices.

My camera is a sony W100, apparently it only takes max 1gig, pity as this is a great deal

Very true, I have got a couple off Ebay that were fake that I had to return due to them being so ****, seems a bit of a hit and hope really...

I too bought a couple of these a few weeks ago when they were £21. They work fine on both Slim and Phat PSPs. I have not experanced any problems at all with them.
#32

I too bvought a fake pro duo off Ebay, well, my mate did, I was flashing the firmware for him and the pro duo literally exploded ! luckily it didnt brick his psp. saying that a dead psp isnt a world away from an alive one lol

Anyway, good deal

Stay away from fakes. I have fakes in the past, used it once each to test (by test, I mean adding loadsa files to the brim and playing it all), and once it passes a limit (a threshold in my recent case is about 300mb from a 4gb) everything corrupts, and you start again. No good for music, films, prob just photos, and defo not good for ehhem* the other stuff...

I think lexars are genuine, as it is coming from a reputable company.
