Taken from website...

Imaging pros expect a lot from their equipment and can't afford to have a component limit their productivity or creativity. That's where Kingston's CompactFlash Elite ProTM memory cards come in. They're designed specifically to help advanced amateur or professional photographers get the best performance from their high-end imaging devices and applications.

Yes you can get faster but seems a good price for a branded CF card. Not seen same card cheaper inc. delivery.

If you device only supports CF, then i suggest upgrading, as it is obsolete...

Not my words but Ken Kutaragi's of Sony Corp

Anything that needs really high capacities and transfer rates. For example, all DSLRs use them.

Far from it, since a colleage at work had ordered a £400 camera which arrived today, and discovered it was CF only. Funny thing was it came with a 16GB HD-SD card which obviously can't be used, and a carry case for the card which doesn't fit it either.

Many D-SLR Canon's do.

With respect, what makes him an expert all of sudden? This is from the company that tried to foster memory stick formats on us when other options were perfectly usable. I would argue that Compactflash is far more useful since larger capacities are both inexpensive and easily available from more than one manufacturer.

my old Fuji s7000, Canon 350D, 40D and the new 5D mkII all use CF so I'd say it's here for a while yet. Never had a CF card fail on me and considering i'm a pro I'll happily stick with the CF format thanks :) But I'd only use a fast card in the mkII as it works so much better with the speed, especially shooting HD video. And personally i wouldn't go over 4 gig in case one of these cards did fail, you don't lose as much work ;)

7dayshop has always been good with me, used them loads
#15
Do 7dayshop accept paypal? The sites going very slow for me but I think its my internet generally
#16
Only Canon still uses Compact Flash. I don't think any new non-Canon camera supports it now.

Hes just trolling, CF bigger more rigid memory less chance of getting lost, or breaking.
#18
Comments about CF being outdated??:whistling: Guess that`s ALL Canon and Nikon DSLRs consigned to the bin...:w00t::w00t: Only the expensive ones...!

Great deal on an 8GB CF card..
#19
Yeah, you're right I've just looked over his previous posts - put it this way, if you NEED compactflash then this is a good deal, so on that basis I've voted hot. :)

Compact flash is not faster than SDHC, nor is it cheaper. CF requires more power to operate, which is no-no for any camera.

Erm, quite a few DSLRs, especially high end ones like, say, the 1DSmk2 by Canon. Which I doubt many photographers would class as 'obsolete' just yet.

All Sony DSLRs do as well.
#24
What makes you an expert on the subject?

To be fair Sony do generally get it right: BetaMax, MiniDisc, SACD...all great formats, but the majority of people spoil it for everyone by just choosing the cheapest format...

As i said , don't shoot the messenger :-)

Olympus DSLR's do! :whistling:

These were £10.69 when I bought 2 from 7 day shop in December so I'm surprised the price has increased, when these items only usually ever go down. Kinsgston is a good brand, and these are still good value. 7 day shop has never given me any problem.

I still bugs me that I paid £60 each for 2 2GB Kingston cards 2 years ago :x.

Ah that all makes sense now. Ken told you to write "LOL compact flash, who uses that these days, yet another obsolete format like DVD, FM etc

Voted cold, if i could have voted especially cold i would have..." ..?

But now that some sensible people have pointed out to you it's by no means an obsolete format you will think twice when Ken says "Jumping off a bridge is great fun. Pssst remember to take your Sony(tm) MagikSpecialChute(tm) just in case."

P.S. I'm joking of course :)

Ok i'm going back to WOW now, i dont get bullied there :-(

Why do you keep saying don't shoot the messenger? The comments are yours not Ken's, Bob's, Tom's, Dick's or Harry's. At least stick by your guns and go down in a blaze of glory

Betamax, minidisc, sacd - the premium on price was more than the premium on quality i.e. competing formats offered better bang-for-buck... and if the cheaper bang is good enough it's a no-brainer. Except for bluray/hd-dvd of course, there's a prime example of sony et al taking the choice away from us. And that's coming from someone (me) who has a sony dslr, sony mobile phone and vaio laptop :)

You haven't been bullied. You just posted a silly message and got warmed up for it. It happens to most of us from time to time on public forums so just take it on the chin and wear fireproof undies next time

CF could be much faster than SDHC.

The fastest CF available is Sandisk Extreme Ducati Edition, 40MB/s

The fast SDHC is 30MB/s

Im going to order one for my ancient and outdated Canon EOS400d :p
