anyone know if this will this work in a psp?

if you're talking custom f/w, I think I read somewhere that you need 2.80 or above - best to check google first
#4
I think I'm correct in saying 2.81 firmware allowed for cards over 4GB
#5
cool, cheers guys.

I would get confirmation before you spend your money, this is from another thread:

Snare
I have just got the 8gb M2 but my psp doesn't recognize it.
What do I do?

v2drinkers
You need to update your firmware to 2.8 or later for m2 cards to work

Snare
I have. I have 3.90 - M33-3

v2drinkers
Can you format it in the PSP or does it not even think one is there?

Snare
doesn't even think there is one.
#7
oops just ordered it a few mins back. have to hope for the best.
#8
This review suggests it works, so hopfully all will be fine.
#9
generally you have to format in you PC first then the psp will know its there

No one has confirmed that games on the PSP work in that link.

I can confirm that this does work in a PSP, ordered mine a couple of weeks ago from dvd.co.uk and it worked perfectly :)

Thanks for the confirmation. I am interested in getting one, but still don't want to chance it until there are few more people confirming that they work.

What firmware is your PSP, and is it a phat, or a slim & Lite?
#13
Some people might prefer 2 x 4GB @ Play.com

£29.44 Delivered with 5% off code (experience08)

The W850i uses Pro Duo.

8gb Pro Duo is seriously expensive, for the best prices see this thread:

Forgive my ignorance but isn't this deal with a pro duo adapter, would that not allow this to work in a w850i?
Sorry, not up-to-date with phone memory.
#24
Thanks to original poster, I had mine today and it works great with a psp.
#25
Works absolutely fine in PSP slim with 3.90 m33 cfw
No noticeable difference to my legit 8GB sony pro duo.
Excellent find thanks.
Now if only they did a 16 GB version
;)

What is the transfer speed like for these? Thinking of getting one for my PSP to replace the counterfeit 4Gb (won't get any more memory card off ebay ever!).

From reading around it seems these are quite a bit slower than a native Pro Duo card. I mean 3mb write speed is gotta be a bit lacking isn't it?

oh well you get what you paid for I suppose and for the price it's still a good deal.

Still can't make up my mind.

No noticeable difference between this and my legit sony 8GB pro duo
Magic gate supported etc as well

Just got mine today. Works fine in the PSP. Even plugged it into the legacy Memory Stick Duo adapter to use in my card reader and that worked like a treat too.
