Not seen these listed elsewhere, and definantly the cheapest i have seen so far. The 8gb is Sandisk branded, whereas the 16gb is unbranded i believe.

Both come with 5 year warranties and there is also quidco and 5% RAC available for an even better deal

I wouldn't risk eBay with memory cards any more. Iv'e had quite a few fake ones of late!
I'd rather pay a quid or two extra and get the real deal!

Exactly.

£11 for an 8Gb card from a reliable website is a bargain anyway, you can only be a cheap skate so much until eventially you buy a duff product :p

Cheaper somewhere else? Cold! This is a deal website not Harrods!

Hello Does anyone know what class the Sandisk microSD is?? I'm assuming it is Class 2, but am hoping someone will correct me

Play are doing their own generic class 4 version for 50p less and probably a lot faster depending on what you use it for http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/-/1005/1250/-/5973047/Play-com-8GB-Micro-SDHC-Memory-Card/Product.html?searchtype=genre

average (supposedly minimum) speed
* Class 2: 2 MB/s
* Class 4: 4 MB/s
* Class 6: 6 MB/s

I've just received a well-regarded card from 7dayshop for £10.99 delivered.

Transcend Micro Secure Digital High Capacity (MicroSDHC) Memory Card - 8GB

It's Class 6 and comes with an adapter.

WHY? At least have the decency to explain your reason for voting cold! :x

For me it is a HOT deal and heat added. :thumbsup:

I also agree weith other posters about eBay fakes - BEWARE! They are mostly rubbish and you are FAR better staying with a reputable name such as Play who will honour their guarantee.

Then i can have a 16GB memory unit in my XBOX 360 :p
That's more capacity than the 20GB HDD :thumbsup:

Surely this is the better deal? If this card also has a 5-year guarantee then I know which one I'd opt for.

16 GB > 20 GB now?

If price is over £18 from Play you risk being caught for VAT as well, as all shipped from Jersey. Worth considering:whistling:

Better at 7dayshop.

Rubbish - Play include VAT in the price when it exceeds the threshold - there are never any VAT charges to pay.

Why does it say this in the Ts and Cs then????

If your delivery address is outside of Jersey, you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. You should note that customs policies vary widely from country to country; Play.com advises each customer to contact their local customs office for further information.

8GB is cheaper from 7Day and Amazon.

In all the years of ordering form Play, ranging from consoles, cameras, games, and so on I have NEVER had to pay any other taxes.

16 GB > 20 GB now?

I'm pretty sure hes stating that a lot of the 20gb is used for system space, and it is a bit of rip calling it 20gb when its only 13.9

That is what he was stating i believe
#24
The sandisk 8gb are the same price on 7dayshop.com, with other brands even cheaper. You can get cheaper 16gb versions there too.
#25
If you look at a Play.com label it says something like "Import VAT Pre-paid authorisation" I assumed Play had some sort of deal with UK customs whereby they pay it all. Never been caught and bought a lot of stuff that is over the threshold from them

16 GB > 20 GB now?

the 20gb hard drive that used to come with the xbox 360 you only get something like 12gb/13gb user usable space. the other 7gb/8gb is saved for system use's and cannot be used by the user
#27
thanks op. bought one of these. also got a micro sd to pro duo adaptor off ebay. should be able to put this in my psp.

tempted to buy another one as well.

Good price :thumbsup: and with comments about Vat on items of over £18 from Play ive ordered loads items over £18 for years never been charged once but about 2 weeks ago my uncle did get hit for charges on a boxset he purchased at Play :shock:

So you've been warned its not often you do get hit with charges at Play but it can happen.
