If you need the card reader, you may as well go for the MicroSDHC that was on offer @ dvd.co.uk for £16.99 ex Del.

Is it worth the extra few quid to go for class 6? I dont know much about memory cards, and the effect the class has on it's speed - is it that noticable?

The Transcend cards come with lifetime warrenty too!!

Do they fly you back out to Rio and recreate the carnival at their expense or just give you a new card?

I came accross these speed comparison tables, not all cameras are equal and cards that perform well in some cameras may not in others. I thought it quite interesting that in one result a Sandisk Class 6 4gb SDHC was three times slower than the Transcend classs 6 4gb and five times slower than the Sandisk extreme III 4Gb!
Looks like the transcend class 6 8gb is a solid performer in the camera - not blazingly fast but good for a large SDHC. Interestingly when it comes to cardreader-computer speeds there's little difference between the Transcend class 2 and Class 6 - both are around 20mb/s.
