I've had a couple of Sumvision MP3/4 players, they're actually pretty good.

I have had sumvision mp4/mp3 players and they are total rubbish..

The screens aren't up to much and are pixelated and coarse and after downloading all your music and spending hours encoding and uploading all your mp4 video's and movies the thing just freezes and after resetting all your hardwork has suddenly vanished, gone ,Kaput, no more, dead..:x

I felt like throwing the thing out the window on many occasions but instead sent back to ebuyer for a replacement only for the new one to do exactly the same thing..

Cheap chinese junk...Stay well clear of Sumvision rubbish...It ain't cheap for nothing..

After all the hassle with the cheap tat got meself one of those Ipod nano thingies and had no problems with mp4 vids and movies, and the screens are unbelievably fantastic..well worth the money in my opinion..:)

i would say yours is an isolated incident(as it does happen). All my mp3 players/mp4 players have been fine, except fro my sempra pro(mp4 player) which the speaker broke but it was because i droped it down the stairs and tbh i use headphones.

They are a good price and competitive brand, especially compared to apple, you pay an arm and a leg for anything with apple on the name, e.g. iphone ipod and when the i river and stuff completely trash it in price and quality(yes i have facts i-river are the best, look at which).

But i do say this, you get what you pay for and am glad the ipod is good for you, it was a real pain for me and so i decided against one.

Voted hot.

What is the battery life on this like ? How many hours (minutes ??) of video could one reasonably expect to watch ? It syas on the wbsite 4 hours, but I assume nothing like this.
Also how many hours of watchable (even if not high quality) MP4 can one put onto an 8Gb drive ?
#7
even i will say so. sumvisons are normally good product. though this looks more like iphone copy

Dunno bout battery life, however taking a rough guess at things, xvid films typically encoded at something like, 356x288 and about 800 meg for two hours and thats way above the quality you'd need to play on a device like this. You could probably comfortably half that and still keep it more than reasonable quality, so probably about 40 hours for 8gb?

am I the only one confused here as this is titled as an 8GB player but in all of the information and item description it is listed as only 4GB ..... (built in flash memory up to 8GB). This is not quite the same thing as an 8GB player as by my reckoning this is clearly a 4GB model
#10
yes you ARE the only one confused ;)
#11
no your not I'm unsure too!

I think Scan may have had these even cheaper on their Today Only specials last week. Certainly had a couple of different versions well reduced but can't remember if this exact model. If interested, keep an eye out or drop them an email. They will sometimes honour a previous today only price if asked... esp good if you have free shipping with them as many of us do...

HOW THE **** DO YOU USE THIS THING!??
-/- This MP4 player is simply the most confusing o.O
