GF has had a sumvision MP4 player for a couple of years. Great player, never had any problems and great value!!
I'm gonna take a chance on this - hope I dont regret it.
A cheap mans iPod Touch. Avoid.
Not something you'll be proud to show off - very cheap look and feel.
I'll stick with my 16GB iPod Touch, way better

Hey I think it's cheap but that doesn't mean it's good. My advice to people is sometimes things are cheap for a reason, bare that in mind.

I would argue that the software that devices run is the most important thing. The iPod touch / iPhone has amazing software to go with some amazing product design. This thing is a cheap imitation. If your the type of person who buys cheap brands because you think your getting value for money, then that's fine. That's your choice. Personally I prefer to pick good quality products and try to find the best price for them.

PS. I am an Apple fan. I'm a fan of ANYTHING that's a good product. I'm not a fan of cheap tack.

what are we supposed to do when we see matches
I was wondering what the resolution of this thing is. usually mobile players have a 240x320 screen which translates to 76800 pixels. The spec for this device quote 320240 pixels, while translates to a minimum 640x480 screen res - 307200 pixels.

Add capability to play divx and a expansion slot to the mix...... it is major HOTness.

ok, design might not be the best (but for 52 pounds, you're willing to take a hit on that)... 18FPS is not ideal. But for movies on the go for this price?.... lovely.

EDIT : Ok, it's not a 640x480 + resolution. The OP ommitted the x in between 320 and 480. On that note .. it's lukewarm....
Having read the reviews and stuff that I could find I'm going to give it a miss. From what I've seen it is trying to be a jack of all trades and doesn't do anything particularly well. Considering I would use it mostly for music, the display options sound awful (no MP3 tags?!) and bad file management are off-putting. As are the general comments on the generally not very good sound quality.

I'm with Skywasher... iPod Touch is the one I want and I would much rather pay the extra to be sure of the quality.

And those that comment on the price of the Touch - don't forget all the extras the Touch has over the Sumvision. Mostly that is superior sound and video quality, but built in wi-fi and better battery life makes the difference for me and my money!
my only moan is the navigation's a bit fiddly for i-books.

otherwise - i like mine :-)
