Alternatively they've got one with an integrated torch at the same price - https://www.amazon.co.uk/IDEAPRO-Retractable-Detachable-Comfortable-Medium-Dogs/dp/B01LMVZM12/

£10.99 for this one and it's a stronger tape type rather than string that my little terrier will nip through quite easily

This is for people looking for a longer leash - That one is only 5M and this one is 8M.

exactly, one little fray in the lead and would you trust it? I've heard the tape type can ruin the retracting mechanism quite quick once the tape takes on water.

If you buy one please understand it's not an excuse for not to watching your dog and keep them under control. The is a women in our town who walks her mute while talking on the phone and is blissfully unaware of it messing or walking up to other dogs while people have to jump over her lead :-) Worse things ever invented for dogs imo.

Maybe her mute cannot hear her instructions! better not start muttering to myself

had one of those , it snapped at a road crossing....also have a friend who got her calves burnt by one when her dog ran behind her...wouldn't trust them

Ive got the rope type 5m length for my lab and he is a big dog, never had any problems with it and its still going strong 2 years later. Maybe this is because i have it attached to a Halti Headcollar instead of a standard collar i dont know. My dog is 7 years old and i am on my 2nd one. Not being funny but if your watching what your dog is doing with these long leads on then there is no need to get your legs burnt if the dog runs behind you, you just turn with the dog.

You try pulling a dog back in a hurry with a string type lead. Cut my hands a few times pulling the string.

I use a long Halti training lead, have it at the longest length, if I need to shorten it I just wrap it a few times around my hand.

You can't do that with one f these nylon cord leads. Tape type for me every time.

A Halti training lead is a standard adjustable cotton lead, not sure why you thought it was a nylon cord lead

You are mis-reading my comment. The one above is a nylon cord, which I am referring to.
