have u been to bellevue ???

well i have been there once and never agin , it is called the majorca jail , lol , my dad lives in alcudia and has done for 15 years and this is one of the worst complexes in alcudia , just so u are aware b4 you go there

and it is at the end of a very long road to et to the beach it will take u a good 10 - 15 mins walk to get to the beach withall ur gear , and the road you walk down is called the golden mile , just like blackpools golden mile , english bars and shops looks like a english seaside road ,

dont get me wrong alcudia is beautiful and i love it there, i go every year and stay in different apts or with my dad if i go without the kids ,, but the area where the bellevue is , is the worst part of alcudia u could stay, and the bellevue complex is one of the worst in the resort,

BUT if u want a cheap holiday and dont care where u stay or how far to get to places and dont care about all the english bars and loud music from the complex at night then go for it !!

I have been all over the place - moonpalace cancun (5* luxury) Victoria palace bulgaria (5*)

but my favourite holiday was lanzagroty why? because we like the british holiday tack which is why we re going to majorca this year.

why do you think people go to blackpool and back to places like this? plus this is spain on a blackpool budget.

Im not saying that , i am just pointing out the bad points about the bellevue and the area it is in , there are loads more nice places in Alcudia, but everyone to there own , i go away ABROAD to somewhere different than the uk ,

My bit over about this thread ,, THE BELLEVUE is a horrid place ,

BUT MAJORCA ALCUDIA is beautiful ,

spain on a blackpool budget

Does not mean it has to be like blackpool

I stayed in Playa Da Muro about 4 years ago in the Lagotel, which i would guess is fairly close to the Bellevue ?
Only downsides with where we were is that is was right next to a swamp thing and you got lots of bugs around but we took the usual mossi repelant and it never really caused us any problems.

From our hotel it was about a 5 minute walk to the main street with a Cheers bar on the way if you needed a quick beer, then there was the usual bars/restaurants nearby (remember wathcin a fair bit of footy in The Swan Pub) but its a bus journey or 30/40 minute walk to alcudia itself.

The one mistake we made is that even though most days we walked to alcudia port it wasn't til 3 days from the end of our hols that we walked off the main road and up a street and found lots of English Bars (the usual Linekars, queens head and another cheers bar) which we hadn't spotted before - should have known they'd be there realy as they were by the biggest hotels , the Saturn, Jupiter etc i think they were called.

Looks like a good deal but if you're wary about the hotel do some searching on the net first.

it's not horrid and the beach isn't far okay its not on the doorstep but there is a beautiful lake and you can ride on the ferry across it to the beach, some people are just not used to/or don't like walking

ok - how far from playa de muro is it? will the driver not say anything? we have been quoted £90 for 4 adults and 2 infants with resort hoppa to alcudia but £65 to playa de muro - its quite a difference.

Hi guys!

I think a holiday is mostly down to what you make it!! Any how, if anyone is concerned about the hotel then just have a flick through, travelrepublic or xcapewithus there are loads knocking about. We have just booked, Hotel Don Pedro, in cala san vicente, with flights, All Inclusive, less than £900 for 6 of us!!!

But personally I think at that price, I would just book the Belvue, I havent stayed there but I have seen it. It is really big and looks nice to me.

definately agree with the quote about a holiday being what you make of it cracking price for your all inclusive too!!

Hi All,

Not from personal opinion (I haven't been there) but I worked for a Tour Operator for 7 years and we used this hotel complex. We did get a lot of complaints and we sent a lot of staff over there (because there were always empty rooms) so my advice is that if you like a nice standard of accommodation - steer clear.

On the other hand, if you just want a bed to rest your head after a day of sun and sand then you'll be fine :-)

My motherinlaw went to bellview and loved it. I stayed further up at the pinns and loved that and that has had bad press, you just cant please some people. Voted hot

I have stayed at the Bellvue , and i found it ok.. Being a large complex it has lots of facilities including a go-kart track and kids fun fair.
Because its a large complex the road from it , down to the beach is full of shops and bars. to me thats a good thing, not a bad thing.

Alcudia is not a great resort though - its poorly planned , too spread out with no obvious centre ( the area around the bellvue is probably the main part). Being built on a swamp, its full of flies and bugs. The " canals" look and smell like open sewers.
#27
voted hot the hotel is great, well you can't complain for that price, there is a lake there , not a SWAMP and it is quite pretty, there is british spanish and chinese restaurants as there are in many places that you go abroad, to be honest if you go self catering and you don't like the complex then you don't have to stay there all day as you are not tied to the food!!:)
